Grey Trìx (gr•aye• Tr•ee•suh) was a 23 year old African American woman living in NYC.. about 5'7 in height. Her skin was a toasted caramel all year round. Her hair was strawberry blonde with blonde low & highlights. She was bi-racial, just a tad bit of Hispanic Heritage but let her tell it if you weren't white, you were black. Her face was round, structured jaw line, high cheek bones. Prominent Cupid's bow, full mauve lips. She was beautiful. Women, men, children all alike stopped and stared whenever she walked into a room. Anywhere she went, the men idolized her and once envy took over an insecure spectator, women wanted to be her. Her looks got her threw plenty of doors but her brain and intense conversations made her electric and irresistible. Grey's name was a contradiction... she was the exact opposite... she was irreplaceable.
She was raised in the toughest crowds. Pissy elevators, dope fiends, shoot outs and fights were apart of her every day visuals growing up. The original concrete jungle. It was EVERYTHING. Growing up in the projects was amazing. Water fights by the jhonny pump, the icey men coming around, coco, mango, cherry.
She was sitting on the subway, on her way home from another shift at the diner. Reminiscing. Just about life and how things used to be before her innocence was stolen. Before life gave her sunshine, syrup & smiles and replaced them with insecurities, instability & incompetence. It's been a few years before she even considered thinking about her childhood.. it was a bittersweet place. A lot of issues were worked out threw therapy and consoling.. a few were swept under the rug..She was in her room coloring. Little G. Around 8years old.. her house phone rang.. her grandmother answered.. "Hello? ... I know you not calling my house Aaron.. it's been 7 damn years.. NOW you calling? NOW you wanna be in her life?! FUCK OUTTA HEA!". She slammed down the phone. Grey jumped up out her room.. it was her father. Aaron Santana. He had been doing a bid in The DOC for attempted murder in the second degree. He had about 5/6 year left to his sentence. She hadn't thought about him much.. her Grandmother Ms.Lavenci was doing a phenomenal job raising her and compensating for both parents not being around.. Ms.Lavenci was furious. Why was he calling after 7 years? He denied paternity. Aviaa (ah•vee•uh) her mother, hadn't been a sable structure in her life either. Always in and out. Gave birth to Grey at 16, so you can see where "incompetence" played a huge part in her life. Ms.Lavenci was the one who was there.. why was her father calling looking for her? That was more than enough for 8 year old G to realize she didn't have the ideal family. Mother, father, 2 grandmas & 2 grandpas... nah, just grandmomma. It puzzled her and she wanted answers... at 8Years old.. this is where Grey got her first taste of life.. she waited a few minutes, went into the kitchen and grabbed the phone and called her mother to tell her about the surprise phone call..
