I was sitting on the hood of my 1969 Mustang with my best friend Ranell. "Cute. Too much hair." I pointed out.

"Eww! Nerd!" Ranell squealed. I laughed as we both picked boys out of the crowd. School was out and Ranell and I always sit on my car and pick guys out.

"Wait! He's new." I slightly shouted.

"Which one?!"

"Dirty blonde, fine jaw line, gorgeous blue eyes, and looks about 5'8." I described.

"Ooo! He's cute! Where do you think he's from?"

"Beats me! Lets go I'm starved and maybe we can catch a movie later." I offered and I hopped off the hood and fixed myself.

"Wait!" Ranell shouted, crossing my path. "What about the cute new guy?!" Panic filled her face.

I laughed at her before responding, "Calm down." I placed my hands on her shoulders. "He's new and we barely know him. We can't just go after him like that." I state blandly. Deep down I want to go after him but something tells me I should keep my distance.

I dipped behind the wheel and turned on my car. It roared to life and caused several wandering students to jump out of the way. I love it when people stare at me confused. Just then I slid my blue and gray RayBan sunglasses on.

There was a knock on my window so I slowly rolled my window down to find that new guy standing on the other side. "May I help you?" I asked dryly.

"Hey I was wondering if you could give me a ride." he asked nervously.

I paused before answering, "Depends, where ya' heading to?" Honestly I would say 'No' but he's just too damn cute.

"Cedar Circle. I actually don't remember getting there so I was hopping you could, um take me? I mean if you're busy th-"

"Yeah I'll take you. It's fine." I responded, funny because I live in that area. Could they be the new neighbors? They just moved in right across the street.

"Thank you so much, love." He stated with the thickest accent.

"Wait what did you call me?" I asked completely caught off guard.

"Sorry, it's just something we say in our country." he blushed dangerously that cause the edge of my lips to tip up.

"Okay. Well I'll drive you home, hop in." I stated. I turned to Ranell and jerked my head back signaling her to move to the back. She rolled her eyes before taking the hint.

I did as I promised and drove New Guy home. "So..." I trailed off.

"Erm, My name is erm Bryson . What's yours, Love?" That whole 'Love' mess is going to get on my nerves.

"I'm Amanda and that's" "Ranell!" She finished for me, figures. I simply smiled and this car ride got awkward really fast. So I turned the radio on and Mirror by Justin Timberlake came on, Soon enough everyone was singing along.

We arrived at Bryson's house and he thanked me for the food and the ride. On the way home we picked up come subs from Subway. So he turned to me and said , "Is it okay if you pick me up tomorrow morning?"

I stopped and thought about it but before I could stop myself from saying yes the words slipped out my mouth with ease. "Yeah, sure."

Soon enough he was out the door and up his porch. I look down and a blue paper caught my eye. I reach for it and written on it was his number. I pulled out of his driveway and headed home.
