The party lasted for a few more hours, ending at midnight. The party was supposed to end at 11 but some people decided it'd be grand to linger, even though some people wanted to go to sleep. Not me, but Father. I had got a glimpse of him when people decided to continue talking to mother and he looked exhausted. It didn't help that he had to be up early in the morning for meetings. I had planned to go with him, to get some more experience, but with this arranged Marriage and then my list, father insisted that he will be fine and to work on getting my list started. Finally after what felt like ages, the unwanted guests left. Father and Mother had gone to bed and Olivia and Joshua went home.

Which left me alone and finally I was able to breathe again. I didn't want to go to bed, despite my growing exhaustion. I wanted to go where I felt calm, peaceful. I wanted to go my library. The library has big white doors, with gold swirling patterns on them. Once you walk in the walls are gold, the floors are dark brown. Bookshelves after bookshelves lined the walls. Couches and chairs and coffee tables decorated the floors. And then my favorite area, bookshelves filled with all my favorite books, was the "loft". A swirling staircase leads to the top, with the same gold walls and dark brown floors. Brown curtains hung onto giant windows and there are red window seats as well. This was my safe heaven. With my back pressed against the window frame and my legs curled into me, I escaped in one of my many books.

I was ready to be immersed until day break or until my exhaustion finally wore me down, but my phone started to buzz. One text and I would have ignored it, but there were 4 at once. I wondered who it was.

Hey!

- Ry

How was the party?

- Ry

Think you can meet me?

-Ry

Look out your window

-Ry

Ah, so that explains the multiples texts. I laughed softly and pulled the curtains a little bit back and looked down. There was Brynn standing in my yard. I couldn't see well, but it looked like she had a couple of tubs of ice cream. It didn't surprise me that Ry knew where I was. Even if this was the only light in the house that was lit, save my bedroom, she still would have known I wanted to be in safe place after tonight. I held up one finger, signaling to her that I will be there shortly. She gave me thumbs up back. I smiled, and shook my head as I head down the stairs to the bottom part of the library.

Now some people would wonder how on earth she got into our yard when we have tall fences guarding the entire place and a big gate in the front, but Ry and I figured out a way ages ago. There was a vine yard on one of the sides of the fence, and after much attempts we had finally been able to climb up it and over the fence. We now use that trick when she needs to talk at night, without the watchful eyes of mother. Most of the time she does it after we have a big event like tonight, or just when she needs someone to talk to or vice versa. She's been away on holidays and I haven't been able to talk to her much; especially the big news involving the marriage. I'd rather have left that to discuss in person. I had reached the front door and quietly slipped out.

After shutting the door and making sure it wouldn't lock me out, I ran to where I saw Brynn. It didn't take long and I found her relaxing on a lawn chair lounge, and another was placed beside her. I sat down and smiled at my best friend.

"Hey"

"Hey" She smiled back and in an instant we start laughing,

"When do you think we'll get caught doing this?"
