Danny Fenton wanted to be a lot of things: an astronaut, an astronomer, and an astro mechanic. But being a half ghost half human hybrid wasn't one of them.

Living with his ghost obsessed parents was more of a chore than a lifestyle for the teenage boy. Danny often found himself down in the lab while his parents forced him and his older sister, Jazz, to watch them demonstrate the numerous ghost gadgets they created. No matter what they showed him, Danny was never interested in their "job" as ghost hunters. (He didn't even believe in ghosts). Despite his disinterests in his parents work Danny couldn't help but snoop around the lab and mess with their inventions, especially the new Fenton Portal they had built.

When Danny stepped into the portal he had no idea it would actually work, well, somewhat work. When the machine turned on something peculiar happen to Danny. Ectoplasm had seeped into his DNA and changed Danny completely. Giving him snow white hair and glowing green eyes along with certain extraordinary supernatural-like powers.

Danny Fenton was no longer an ordinary boy. He was Danny Phantom: a teenage half ghost hybrid superhero.

You could say he was much more unique than the other guys.
