Hermione likes the color purple and was a bit obsessed with it around the age of five. When her well-meaning Muggle parents read the Muggle book Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse™️ (trademark so i don't get copyright flagged rip) to her, she fell in love with the book and kept it with her through all of her Hogwarts years. It now lays in a dusty box under her bed, waiting to be read by her to her children.
