It's been weeks since their last encounter. Shea stares down at her phone hesitantly moving her thumb over the call button on Sasha's name. She finally presses it this time while sober. Someone instantly picks up, "Hello?" An unfamiliar voice picks up Shea can't make out who it is. Her heart cracks at the sound of another woman's voice at the other end with Sasha's phone against her face in her hand, "Hello?" Shea quickly hangs up throwing her phone across the floor. She storms out of her room locking the solid door behind her. She begins to walk in the direction of Peppermints apartment just off campus. She needs something to get her mind off of this now negative force invading her clouded mind.

"Hey boo what's up?" Peppermint answers the door with a gleaming smile, but once her eyes meet Shea's her expression falls, "Oh no." Shea nods her head as she walks into Peppermints place sitting down on her padded couch making herself at home instantly taking in the calming incense, and large fan blowing from across the room. Her home always has a warm inviting aura that Shea can never get enough of, "Another person picked up Sasha's phone like... What the fuck?" Shea stammers through her anger slowly meeting a sudden sadness, "Wait you called her, why?" Peppermint asks before sitting next to Shea who was involuntarily shaking, "We got lunch like the night after I disappeared from the club, remember? And she slept in my bed that night. Nothing happened though so don't be assuming any shit." Shea blurts out, "Girl how come you didn't tell me this from the get-go I could've warned you about her having a girlfriend." Peppermint rubs Shea's back in small circles, "I should've expected this, but it's like... I don't know UGH." Shea frowns as her mixed emotions get the best of her, "Here, where's your phone?" Peppermint stretches out her hand Shea shakes her head in return, "I left it in my dorm I was way too angry to take it along, and have whoever that bitch was call me back." Peppermint shakes her head, and remains silent. Shea lays her head on Peppermint's lap as the two girls continue to talk about several different things Peppermint solely focusing on steering Shea's mind away from Sasha, and it worked.

For awhile

Shea walks back to her dorm in the dark with only the street lights illuminating the path back to campus arms across her chest folded into one another and her thoughts barreling towards, and away from Sasha. What if she called me back? What if she hasn't? Does she not care? I wonder if I can order pizza this late at night?  She pulls her school I.D. out to scan her self into the complex, "Shea?" Sasha walks up the steps towards the body inching closer to the door. Her eyes stay glued to the her I.D. wondering if she should just lock Sasha out, and never speak to her again, "Why haven't you answered your phone I've been calling it off of the hook I thought something had happened?" Sasha asks with worry riddled into each word, "Why haven't you?" Shea says through gritted teeth facing Sasha with exasperation on her face, "What are you talking about?" Sasha furrows her eyes, "The bitch who picked up your phone. The bitch who wasn't you!" Shea steps towards Sasha pocking her chest between sentences, "Uhhh." Sasha looks at Shea with her lips parted astounded at Shea's negative reaction, "I don't know when you called me my phone was in a drawer at my desk while I was working it could've been my co-worker I honestly don't know." Sasha explains her hands at her sides moving up and down as she speaks. Shea steps back with disbelief at first, but once she sees the look in her eyes she knows Sasha is telling the truth, and begins to feel embarrassed, "Anyways why would it have mattered if another woman picked up my phone?" Sasha steps back with crossed arms a smirk forming across her red painted lips, "Fuck off." Shea breaths while racking through her brain for a logical explanation then falls short lowering her eyes to the ground, "I don't know I guess the jealous side of me came out?" Shea gulps as she looks at the cement sidewalk, "Jealous?" Sasha doesn't let her smirk fall stepping closer to Shea, "I don't wanna get hurt again." Shea explains softly letting Sasha step closer, "Shea." Sasha whispers inches away from Shea. Shea looks at Sasha with sad eyes, "Yes?" She whispers back with only the street light shining down on each of their faces now, "I love you."

Shea stands in front of Sasha her mouth a-gap in shock, "Sasha think about the hurt we've caused each other... the pain when we went our separate ways. What if that happens again?" Shea explains further stepping back to only have Sasha step closer towards her, "And who's to say it'll happen again Shea? What we have is something I don't think I'll ever be able to find again." Shea looks to the ground then at Sasha's face wondering how to respond. She wants nothing more than to feel Sasha's intimate touch, but she can't seem to shake the memory from their final break up. How it broke both of their hearts, "You've changed my world Shea, and I'll be damned if I let you go again." Sasha confesses they can feel both of their hearts pounding through their chests.

Shea lunges forward without saying a word passionately crashing her lips into Sasha's wrapping her arms around her neck pulling her closer. The fluttering feeling in her stomach fades turning  into a calm repetitive wave crashing against a rock in the middle of the ocean. She suddenly pulls away sitting her forehead against Sasha's catching her breath as her heart rate returns to normal, "I just... I need some time to think. This was... a lot." Sasha steps back, and gives Shea an understanding smile, "Take all of the time you need darling I'll be right here when you decide." They both go their separate ways. Shea disappearing behind the heavy building doors, and Sasha disappearing into the darkness.
