The Room ~Yoonmin/Yoonseok/Namgi/Namjin~

Chapter 6: Mrs. Short Term Memory.

Namjoon walked into the plain, silent, empty lobby. His eyes wondered around the big room as the automatic sliding doors closed behind him, sealing him away from the normal world that he was getting used to. He took a few steps further, busy observing the walls that were lifelessly grey, the marble tiles a dull white with occasional accidental cracks inflicted on them. It felt like the room had pushed all the color of the world away from itself. Or rather, the world had been mercilessly draining out its colour.

Namjoon wondered if he should sit on the neatly aligned visitors chairs and wait for the doctor to come out, but he just noticed a small cabin at the left hand corner of the big lobby. He peered to try to see if anyone was inside it and it seemed empty, but he couldn't conclude for sure.

He began walking towards the small cabin, passing by a grey sofa or two with a small, wooden coffee table in between. Namjoon could almost picture the doctors sitting on them, sipping on their midnight coffees anxiously as they prayed for none of their patients to wake up and wanting to be attended to. Namjoon looked away from the sofa and kept walking until he finally stood right before the cabin. He tried to look inside for any presence of a human, getting slightly agitated as to why the doctor hadn't come down to personally meet him. Didn't he want to talk about her too?

Namjoon sighed as he dropped his head down between his hands that were holding the cabins window frame. He had shifted his body weight onto the brass frames, his thoughts carrying him away.

This was it, huh? He was finally going to see how she looked like..before even Yoongi did. He sighed again, trying to brush any sort of troubling emotions away before he noticed an open register from the corner of his eye. He lifted his head, fixing his eyes on the long pages with scarcely anything written on them. The pages were divided into three labelled columns- Date, Name..Namjoon immediately guessed it was the visitors log. He stood up and perfected his posture, looking around to check if anyone was there in the lobby with him. He quickly tilted his head to check the names.

"You could just turn the book around, y'know."

Namjoon's head shot back to turn to look at the voice holder. He saw an extremely pale man before him, his brown hair parted towards the middle but not quite, as it hung down till his thick, dark brown eyebrows. His eyes were russet, matching his brown shoes which was the only thing that had color in his outfit. He was covered with a white button up underneath a white coat paired with long, white pants. He had a smirk on his pale, symmetrical face, making Namjoon wonder if he was okay with visitors prying into the logs. It didn't look like there was anything much to hide in it anyway.

I was just wondering if I had to fill it. Namjoon quickly came up with an excuse, playing it safe by acting dumb. He observed the change of expression from amuse to realization on the doctors face, understanding that he had successfully fooled him. Namjoon smiled, and tried to quickly change the topic to avoid giving time to the man before him to think about Namjoons previous act,"Im Kim Namjoon," The doctor looked at him differently this time but Namjoon continued,"Im here to meet Dr. Kim Seokjin?"

"Oh, youre Min Je Yeons cousin." The doctor suddenly commented,"I'm sorry I asked you to come suddenly on a weekday. You must have taken off from work early for this."

Namjoon was confused at first, but he quickly nodded. So he was the doctor on the line?

Namjoon observed his features. His slim nose, slender yet soft eyes, his dark hair..Namjoon was taken aback. He had been thinking that the doctor would be some 40 year old man locked away from his family in a crazy town, regretting his life decisions. He never even once considered a young, attractive doctor who looked like he was in his early twenties would be in such a boring profession. But Namjoon tried not to lose sight of his goal.
