"Ow!"

I woke up feeling the pain in my hand that I felt everytime I woke up. Though I felt this pain everyday, it felt like hell that burned my flesh. I lifted my hand up to my face. It had a black bandage around it, covering the hole in the middle on my left hand. Ignoring it, I sat up and turned my body to the edge of the bed. The brown blanket shifted with my legs so I just moved it to my right, leting it lay on top of my white pillow. My pillow had a strange mark on it. It looked like a bite mark but either way I didn't care. I never questioned things, I always just thought it was a bug in the data base. I pushed myself up, walking toward the kitchen. I took one step in and paused.

"Hmm.."

There stood no smell in the kitchen. No good nor bad, it smelled like nothing, nothing but air. It bothered me, I was used to the smell of food but all that ended last year. Last year, Ichy, my roommate and best friend, disappeared out of no where. News passed by fast in Cybra. Cybra was where me and Ichy lived, it was a territory of the new systems where we learned how to help human gamers, but it was useless because there haven't been gamers in years. We also lived a poor life there unlike Techno Base where I live now. Techno Base is for the normal systems that know only the basics of the game but are learning everything about the game. We live a more higher, average life style, but it was nothing compare the Creator Capital. The Creator Capital is where the advance systems live, they know everything about the game. They live a rich life but some people believe they hold dark secrets. But in the end, everyone respects them for keeping the data base safe and fixing the bugs in them. All of the territories are separate by a bridge that you have to cross over. The data base keeps every thing saved in the game. Its the most important thing in the game because without it we wouldn't exist. Last year, people thought there was a giant bug in the data base that was deleting systems, thats how people think Ichy disappeared. Everyone rushed to the Creator Capital and was yelling and screaming, going on a rampage. Everyone thought they were all going to get deleted. After a month, everyone calmed down when the new systems, including me, advanced from Cybra to Techno Base. Even though a year has pasted, I still miss the smell of Ichy's cooking in the morning. Just thinking about it made my stomach growl. I gave a slight sign and grabbed a bag of chips. Looking at the cover of the bag, it read "Computer Chips". Now that I think about it, everthing here was so corny. Almost everything was named after anything that had to do with technology.

"How stupid.."

I laid the bag down on the table and walked toward the sink. I washed my hands and pulled out a carton of orange juice. I walked out the kitchen and into the giant living room. I planted myself onto the dark, brown sofa like a lazy bum. I drank the orange juice out of the carton and slid some chips into my mouth quickly trying to satisfy my hunger so I could leave the house. I left the chips and juice where it was and went into my room. I changed out of  my sleeping clothes, blue shorts that reached my knee and a giant black shirt, and into a white tank top and blue skinny jeans. I slid on some socks and my wore out high tops. I quickly grabbed my black brush and only brushed the top of my hair against my ponytail. I pulled out one side on my hair, on my right, and made a frizzy bang. I signed and grabbed a picture out my draw. I held it tight in my hand and walked outside. I started to walk through Techno Base, looking at its one story houses that had fine paint that would only stay on for a year then peel off. Systems in casual clothes walked on the blue stone of the rode, laughing and talking. Some were buying items in the stores. They brought them with Bit Points that we get everyday. Cybra citizens got fifthteen, Techno Base got twenty five, and Creator Capital got thirtynine. You can save them but your need them for food, we are just like human gamers. Eating, drinking, and sleeping, are life styles are just different. Also, if you don't eat enough you'll die and be deleted out of the data base. Creator Capital doesn't care about dieing and how we live our lifes. Today I wasn't going to be able to shop, it was the day Ichy disappeared, just a change in the year. I was heading for Cybra to our old apartment. My friend, Starlet Red, lives there, I usually visit her instead of her visiting me because she's scare of going into Techno Base. Starlet lives on her own like everyone else in Cybra, unless you have a roommate. No one considers each other family nor has a family. Right after you turn eight, even if you are born, by the data base, in Techno Base or Creator Capital, your fake parents give you away to the System Learning Academy in Cybra. You live inside the school dorms until your eleven, then you get your own apartment. I think its stupid to let reckless kids live alone with only some adult teachers and store sellers in Cybra. But System Learning Academy tries their, best to mature them. In the end, I guess it works, I turned out good. I reached the bridge that connected Cybra and Techno Base. I stood on the blue stone side that was Techno Base, on the other side laid dirt and apartments with already peeling paint. If you look straight ahead, you could see System Learning Academy. It stood big compared to the apartments, and was build wooden just like everything in Cybra. I stared at its giant clock that hands stood still and only one moved, counting the seconds. I took a few steps then stopped when I reached the last part of the blue stone rode.

"Ichy...."

I held the picture I took with me in both hands and stared down at it. It was a faded picture of me and Ichy as kids. My hair was wavy and shiny, down with no bangs, back then and I wore plain dresses. Now my hair was frizzy and dim and I wore jeans and tops with short shelves. Ichy, I wondered if he would have changed to. His hair shines too, it was white and straight. A bang fell infront of his left eye and hung to his cheek. His eyes where also white and his skin was pale, making him seem like a ghost. I closed my eyes and stuffed it in my back, right pocket. I took a deep breath, opened my eyes, and walked into Cybra. I looked to my right while walking and saw a wooden sign that had the words "Welcome to Cybra" craved into it. Behind it surely said "You are Leaving Cybra to Techno Base". The sign had no excitement like Techno Base, just sadness, it was also dusty like almost everything in Cybra. It was such a poor town, I remember living there like it was yesterday. I was happy when I was moved to Techno Base, living in a house instead of a cramp apartment and even greater technology. Now I'm just waiting to be advanced to the Creator Capital, even though I don't want to. If anything I wouldn't mind living in Cybra but its banned to live in a territory that your not suppose to live in. The Creator Capital is so strict and proper that no one in Techno Base and especially Cybra even dares to go in there. We fear the Capital rules and mainly its punishments.

Author's Note:

Sorry I didn't make it interesting, for the first two chapters I want to explain how the territories are and how they work. Also if you like this don't forget to vote!
