I sat down with Starlet at the kitchen table. We drank our tea, I stared down while she stared at me. Starlet looked at me with curiosity.
"Sooo....Kira..Did you find anything interesting in there?"
"Yeah.....just inside his desk."
"What was it?"
"Stuff.."
Starlet looked at me with a frown which then turned into shock expression. She shot out her sit, laying her drink down.
"Starle-"
"You found...."you know whats" in there, didn't you?!"
"What?"
"You know! Ummm, those.."
Starlet lend in close to me, she whispered.
"Nasty videos.."
"Ew! No no!!"
Starlet backed up and tilted her head.
"Oh.....then what?"
I sighed and laid my tea down.
"I just found this book, with a chain on it. Invisible ink and a blue lighter that let you read it."
Starlet looked at me and nodded. She sat back down.
"What did it say?"
"I don't know, I didn't read it."
"Then what are we waiting for!"
Starlet shot out of her chair again and grabbed my hand. She started to pull me towards the room.
"Wait! We can't even read it! The lighter burns the page!"
Starlet paused as she was just about to open the door. She turned her head to me. We stood in silence, I nodded to her, thanking her for understanding.
"Oh well!"
But that was quickly ruin and she opened the door. She ran toward the desk while I walked in. She picked up the book and the lighter.
"Hmmm...."
"I told you, we can't read it or we'll just burn it.."
Starlet signed in disappointment and laid them back down. She turned to me and crossed her arms.
"Oh well, I was hopeing maybe there was something cool in there."
"Yeah, maybe."
I looked outside the window that was above the desk. It was dark outside, like it was gonna rain. The Capital Programmers, who are actually making everything the way it is, are always trying to make the game like the human world.
"Man! Now I got to walk to Techno Base in the rain!"
"Actually, you don't have to leave until system curfew. So stay here until then, maybe the rain will go ou-"
Thunder struct loud, following after that, the power went out. Starlet jumped on me, wrapping her arms around me tight. I took a step back in shock but then remember her fear of the dark.
"Kira!!"
Starlet cried into my chest, I tried to hurry up and grab the lighter. I reached over her to the desk and grabbed it. I hurried up and lit it.
"Kiraaaa!"
"Sh sh sh! Look at the lighter."
Starlet looked up and stared at the blue fire. I hurried and lit the candel that laid on the desk. The whole room lit up, brighter than the fire on the lighter.
"Woahhhh, Kira."
"I know.... Where did Ichy..."
I then noticed something as I looked at the book. Words shown clearly on it, I quickly picked it up.
"Starlet look!"
She stared at the book and gave a smile. I nodded to her and I looked back to the book. I flipped back to the first page and read the first sentence.
I learned the truth....about this game or should I say this...
