Getting closer

Over the next four months I was getting closer to everyone. Especially aaron. I don't know yet how it happened. I sighed as I sat on the plane going over the case file. I tapped my finger on my chin as everyone was sitting around doing something or another.

"So kenzi..you still going out with..David was it?" Reid asked looking at me from his spot. I raised an eyebrow as I looked over at him.

"No actually..he was getting tired of my hours I put in and all the traveling. It's alright though" I said as I looked over at him smiling softly.

"Such a waste. He was a good guy" morgan said shaking his head making me roll my eyes.

"Says the guy who didn't like him" I said grinning at morgan who shrugged a bit amused.

David had been a good guy. He just couldn't handle me being an agent and not needing much from him in ideas of protection. I can pretty much do it myself.

I looked up at aaron who seemed deeps in thought about the case. I looked down at my case file biting my lip. The other issue with david. Well I might have a crush on...well hotch. I wasn't used to liking him. He was my boss...now nope. I Like Him alot. He's sweet, confident, an amazing father no matter what anyone says. Hes just amazing.

Now here I sit with a frown on my face working a case with him.

As the week passed by I had gotten into horrible situations twice. Now we are on our way back with me having a gun wound on my shoulder.

I was ok to fly though. I sighed with ice on my head with my eyes closed. The unsub was an asshole.

"Hey kenzi..you ok?" Hotch asked as he sat next to me on the airplane.

"Yeah..just sore" I said laughing softly as I looked over seeing rossi smirking at us. I raised an eyebrow as I looked at hotch. He took the ice pack and looked me over. He had my chin in his hand as he scanned me.

"Yeah that's going to be really sore tomorrow" he said gently before letting my chin go. That..was..not what I was expecting. It was fatherly..and it kinda killed me inside.

"Thanks hotch." I said softly as I laid down again. I closed my eyes as he patted my good shoulder.

"Get some rest" he said sternly as I nodded silently cursing myself for even having a crush on him.

I nodded as I slowly fell asleep to hearing rossi say to hotch. "Smooth aaron smooth" I passed out shortly after.
