Before I start writing I want to say this book is a fanfiction but the main character, Rosie, she stands up for sexual abuse/relationships, child abuse, and young girls rights. So I hope you enjoy 😊

"If Tom was here you wouldn't be like this," I finally stand up.

That was a mistake. The impact of a hand knocks me to the floor. I stand back up and get hit back down. I can't let him win.

"Jason please stop it!" My mother yells.

"She is not going to talk to me like that!" He yells, striking me again.

Mom tries to pull Drunk off of me but he pushes her into the counter. Her head bounces off and she falls to the floor. I tackle him to the ground before punching him. I feel a pain running through my head before falling to the ground.

Ten hours later

"Where am I?" I ask.

"The hospital. You got hit over the head with a bottle of Scotch," the nurse says. That's why I smell alcohol.

"Where's my mother and sister?" I ask.

"Your mother didn't make it. Your sister is out in the waiting room."

"What do you mean my mother didn't make it?" I push myself up.

"She bled out on the floor. I'm sorry. I'll go get your sister," the nurse exits and I lay my head back.

The door opens and Sky runs to my side. She starts crying and I hold my tears back.

CPS just arrived and inform us that there's a family in America that wants to adopt us. We leave Friday.

"When you turn eighteen will you take me with you?" Sky asks.

"If they treat us right no. I'm accepted to Juilliard. I'll come visit you every chance I get. You have me for a full year," I smile.

"I'm scared."

"Why?"

"I'm scared I'm going to fall in love with the wrong man like mommy did," Sky states.

"Me too. But it's okay. You don't need a man to make you happy," I inform my sister.
