"Mr. Davidson you are a business man and you have a daughter and wife correct?" The prosecutor asks.
"That's correct."
"So why would you ever hurt your daughter?"
"I wouldn't and I didn't," he says and I roll my eyes.
"Well I'm sure being a businessman is a lot of stress do you drink at all?"
"Occasionally," Derek states.
Flashback
"You should stop drinking. Maybe you wouldn't be such a dick," I scoff.
"Shut up."
"Fuck off," I sass. I'm a total idiot.
I get hit across the face with the bottle of beer and black out.
Flashback ends
"Occasionally? That's weird because your credit card receipts show you spend about $100 a week on beer. You also have a cabinet full of liquor. Hard liquor," Mr. Bryant states.
Derek sits there quietly. Mr. Bryant states there's no further questions.
"So why does your daughter say you and your wife abuse her?" His attorney questions.
"She wants attention. She has failing grades and she wants someone to "feel" bad for her. She's in counseling. Nothing seems to help," Derek states.
"So you do care about her and you just want her home."
"Yes. Caliy we miss you very much," Derek says.
"You have no paper work or anything on a counselor. There's no proof that she even sees one. Where is that paper work at?" Bryant states.
"It's a private one. There is no paper work," Derek states.
"No further questions your honor," Bryant sits down.
I get called to the stand and take the oath.
"You told the officer that this wasn't the first time. Explain how you found out the very first time," Bryant asks.
"The first time was about a year ago. Caliy started slacking in the dance class. She looked like she hadn't slept in days, she looked high to be honest but she wasn't. I kept her after class one day and she started freaking out saying that she had to get home or she'd be in trouble. She told me that Mr. Davidson had struck her in the head and she didn't remember anything. Which is why she was falling behind in the class. I took her home and as soon as I pulled up she was pulled out of the car and inside. I know what she's going through. No one deserves that," I state.
"Thank you."
"Ms. Alezandru. You said you know what she's going through do you want to explain that a little more?"
"I was abused growing up. I was beaten, starved, sexually assaulted, and broken," I stand up. I pull my shirt over my head.
"I was tortured. Beaten almost every night. Starved. I didn't dare eat at school. The only time I ate was when my brother came home. That's the only time. I was burned, cut, belted, drowned, acid burned, chemical tortured, a living hell. Until seventeen when my stepfather killed my mom and my sister and I got taken in. But my past doesn't define me. It made me into the person I am today. From what I can tell Caliy has been beaten severally. No one deserves that except for the people who do it," I state.
"Are you maybe doing this out of anger?"
"Are you stupid? If the jury allows that son of bitch to walk Caliy is going back to the same hell she's trying to escape. You let that girl go back no telling what she might do. People like us take the path of suicide because no one wants to help. Believe me I'm not doing this out of pure anger. I'm doing this because someone needs to stand up to people like them. People like them deserve to be put in jail to rot. If I ever see my step father again he's probably a dead man because I'll beat the living hell out of him. So ask me again if I'm doing this out of anger I'll tell you to go fuck yourself," I go off.
"Ms. Alezandru," the judge warns.
"Sorry your honor," I apologize.
"No further questions."
I walk off the stand and they go on recess. Chris and I are trying again. It's been two months and Seb and I have become close.
"Caliy!" Her mother calls out.
I step in front of her before speaking," Back the hell up. You have a restraining order against you. I suggest you stay the one hundred foot distance before I kick your ass."
"You won't," she says.
"Your right I'm not an idiot. Officer I'm pretty sure this is no where near a hundred feet. She's breaking the restraining order," I smirk.
Caliy hugs me and I hug her back. I see Seb talking on his phone.
Seb
"I can't. I'm at something important. I can't leave," I inform my agent.
"Sebastian you have to get back to set. What's possibly so important you can't leave?" He questions.
"Family," I state.
"Isn't your mom out of town on a trip?"
"Yes but-"
"Get back to set Sebastian," he states.
I sigh and hang up. As I walk over to Camilla she gives me a small smile.
"I have to get back to set. I'm sorry. I tried to get my agent to let me stay he's demanding I get back. I wish you both luck," I inform Cam with a smile.
"Of course. I'll text you later," she smiles.
I give the both of them a hug and head out of the courthouse.
Cam
"We find the defendants guilty. We would also like to say that we all believe that Caliy Davidson should be placed with Ms. Alezandru," the jury speaks.
"Ms. Alezandru would you be willing to take Caliy Davidson in?" The judge questions.
"Yes your honor," I agree.
"Court adjured," the judge hits the gravel on the padding.
Caliy hugs me as I hug her. We walk out and head to my car. I take Caliy to Zesto's for ice cream.
"You okay?" I ask Caliy.
"It's all hitting me at once. I'm thrilled I'm away but I feel like I did the wrong thing," she says.
"You didn't do the wrong thing. They are never going to hurt you again. I promise," I give her a warming smile.
We finish and climb back in the car.
"Tomorrow I'll go by and get all of your belongings from their house. Then I'll come pick you up and we'll go shopping. I'll get you a phone add you on my line and you'll be ready to go."
"Thank you so much. I'm tired," she says laying her head against the window.
Once I arrive home Amelia tackles me in a hug. We show Caliy where she'll be staying. I walk downstairs and sit next to Chris.
"So I see that she's staying with us," Chris states.
"Yeah. Tomorrow I'm gonna go and pick up all of her things. Bring those back then take her shopping. When do you go back for filming?" I question.
"Tomorrow unfortunately. Where's Boo Bear at?" He smirks.
"He had to leave to film," I explain.
Chris nods and the girls join us downstairs. Sky is off doing a modeling job in Cali. We watch a movie and the girls pass out on the loveseat.
