10 Reasons to Love Dan Howell

Dan woke up the next morning to an empty bed. He began to panic, looking around and yelling Phil's name.

"What if he left?" He thought to himself.

"Wouldn't be surprised." Another voice said.

"Stop it Dan." He said under his breath. "Phil loves you."

"Who knows why."

Dan glanced to his left, spotting a small piece of paper beside him on the bed. He picked it up, recognizing Phil's handwriting immediately.

Dan,

I had a business meeting :( You know how it is.

I just want to remind you that I love you because

1. Your eyes shine brighter than the sun when you're happy. It's adorable.

Dan smiled the slightest bit. He was glad Phil liked at least one thing about him. He got out of bed, set the note on the bedside table and walked over to the mirror. He frowned at his shirtless reflection, as usual, while the voices in his head began to circulate. Before he could start picking apart every part of his appearance, he noticed another piece of paper in the mirror. He grabbed and unfolded it.

2. You're the funniest person I know. Seriously, I laugh at every video you make and you always know how to make me smile.

What was Phil doing? Dan didn't know, but whatever it was he was starting to like it. He smiled at the little note and walked to the bedroom door, only to find another note taped to it.

3. You're kind. You're nice to everyone you meet and you are hardly ever mean, even when people upset you, you continue to be nice to them.

Dan smiled, taking the note off the door and continuing, hoping to find more notes. They were making him happier. He entered the bathroom to find three more notes taped to the mirror.

4. Your smile could light up a room. Seriously, it's so pretty. You should smile more.

5. Your curly hair is so cute. I love that you aren't straightening it recently, it makes me so happy that you're embracing your natural hair.

6. You've helped me become more outgoing. Whenever I get anxious in a social situation, you always help me to not freak out.

At this point, Dan was nearly on the verge of tears. For the first time in a long time, his morning was not consumed by self-loathing. He went out into the hallway and found two more notes on the walls.

7. Your. Voice. Is. So. Damn. Attractive. I know you hate it, but it is everything to me.

8. You put your all into everything you do. It's one of your most admirable traits, and I aspire to work as hard as you do every day.

Dan was crying at this point. He was starting to feel something he hadn't felt in a very long time. Happiness. Pure, uninterrupted happiness. He found another note on the door to the kitchen.

9. You are possibly the sweetest, most caring boyfriend out there. You never fail to make me feel loved.

Dan pushed open the door to the kitchen and spotted a box of cereal sitting out on the counter. His favorite kind of cereal. There was another note taped to the front of the box.

10. Your body is so beautiful, baby. It was beautiful a month ago, and it is beautiful now. But, it hurts me to see you in such pain. I love you, and I can't watch you wither away. I got you your favorite, I hope you can enjoy it.

Dan took a shaky breath. He looked down at the note, and the rest of the notes Phil had given him. So many reasons that he deserves love, through a set of eyes aren't his own. He closed his eyes, took another breath, and went to get a bowl and spoon from the cupboard, with enough confidence to believe that he will still be loved afterwards.
