"Dinners ready!" Pam's mother's voice was heard throughout all the house. Everyone got up and headed to the dinner table for something to eat.

Fergal sat down next to Pam, and began talking about how it was all going so far.

Fergal thought he had made on okay impression on everyone here so far, he just hadn't got a chance to talk to her dad yet without someone else being in the conversation.

He was kind of glad for that however, he was a bit scared to hear what he would have to say.

After dinner, Pam and her mother were washing the plates when Pam saw her father head over towards Finn who at the moment was by himself. She couldn't help but worry. Her dad could be quite....over dramatic at times....

"He'll be okay, We like him so far. He's only going to ask a couple of questions, love."

Her mums words relaxed Pam for a moment, but she still didn't take her eyes off of Fergal once her dad sat down next to him. She could see how nervous he was already getting.

"So son, you think you're good enough for my daughter?"
Finn stuttered, "I..I um...I hope so..."
"Relax, I'm only going to give you the dad talk, don't need to be so nervous kiddo."
Fergal smiled as he said, "Sorry, I just haven't met anyone parents in over a year...."

"And why is that?" Finn didn't exactly feel comfortable telling Pam's dad everything, so he just told a basic story of what happened.
"One of my ex girlfriends hurt me pretty bad...After that I didn't allow myself to really fall in love again, until recently of course..."

"Why not?" Even Bayley's dad couldn't help but feel a little sorry for Finn.
"I guess I was too scared of getting hurt again...I'm not quite sure how to phrase it..."
"No need kid, I can tell by you expression this is a sensitive topic for you, we'll move on."
"Thank you."

They talked for a while, about how Finn was going to treat Bayley and that if he ever hurt he her dad would come after him. The normal type of 'dad talk', but then Aaron was brought up.

"I never liked him. He always seemed off for some reason. Like he wasn't acting natural around us, and now we know why." Pam's seemed to be getting angry just talking about Aaron.

"I hate him. Always have, we both hate each other."
"Why does Aaron hate you?"
"He always tried to get Bay-Pam to stop seeing me, she thinks he was jealous of our friendship."
"I see...."

"If i ever see Aaron, I'll make him pay for what he did to Bay, no one deserves that. Especially not her."

Pam's dad started at Finn, Fergal looked at him slightly confused.
"Bay?"
"Oh, that's what I call Pam, I've always known her as Bayley because of work and it's what I call her because it's short for Bayley."
"Oh, okay. That makes sense now."

After a little while longer of talking, Pam saw her father walk away and she continued to focus on washing up the dishes again. She calmed down after seeing Finn become a lot less stressed and anxious as the talk went on.

***

Everyone was outside talking but there were still a couple people in the living room, watching some TV. Pamela was looking after some of her baby nieces while her cousins helped clean up the rest of the kitchen.

"Are you sure you don't want me to help clean up, Bay?"
"You're the guest Finn!"

They were having a nice moment when it was quickly cut off by a crying baby that was on Bayley's lap. She panicked at first and didn't really know what to do. She placed the baby down next to where she was sitting.
"Hang on a second, I'm just going to go get her some milk to stop her crying." Bayley said as she got up and headed out of the room.

As Pam left, Finn picked the crying child up and placed her in his lap. He started to talk to her and grab her hands and play with her. She calmed down and eventually stopped crying.

When Bayley came back in with her older Cousin and mum, they were greeted to the sight of Finn holding the baby, calm in his lap.

"That's a Good girl."  Finn didn't realise that Bayley had come back and when he looked up he could see Pam's mother tearing up.

He started to go a little red out of embarrassment. "She didn't want her bottle, she just wanted to play." Finn said with a smile on his face.

Pam turned to face her mother and was surprised when she whispered to her, "He's a keeper, don't let him go, Pammie."

"Here, I'll take her off you if you want." Bayley's older cousin walked over to Fergal, a bit hesitant to take the baby off of him since she was so calm.
"It's okay, I know how to look after kids if you want a bit of a break."
"Thank you." Bayley's cousin walked out of tr room full looked by her mum.

They were back where they started. With just Pam, Fergal and little Maria left in the room.

Pam starred at Fergal, memorised on how good he was with babies. When Fergal noticed Pam starring at him, he just smiled. She didn't notice he had noticed until the silence was broke.

"Everything alright, Bay?" He gave her a wide smile.

She was taken back a little, not realising she had been starring for so long. "How are you so great with kids?"

Finn chuckled, "I come from a family with many siblings, and who doesn't love kids?

Bayley awed at his words. She knew Finn acted really tough sometimes, but deep down it was clear he was a big softy.

"Do you see kids in your future?" Bayley asked Fergal. She knew it was a big question to ask, but she was curious.

"One day, maybe. I would love to." Surprisingly, Fergal didn't find the question uncomfortable. Pam thought, since Fergal was so shy, he might have blushed at the question and try to avoid it. But he didn't.

Finn leaned over and gave Bayley a kiss. He was so happy he got to meet her family. He found all her little family members to be so cute!

"I love you, Finn."
"I love you too, Bay."
"Forever?" Bayley smirked.
Finn smiled, "Always and forever."
