he always liked to hum.

Jimin left the classroom surrounded by the scent of coffee. He had never really talked to Eunhee before. He just knew her as the smart girl who sat in front of him and smiled at everyone. Jimin, however, had actually known Eunhee for a long time. Since they lived in the same neighborhood, they had practically grown up together in the same schools; heck, they had even been friends at some point. But, they grew apart and hadn't really talked to each other since.

He started to walk to the rooftop for lunch, humming his favorite song at the moment, We Don't Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth. Music was a huge part of Jimin's life. It was always there for him. It was there when he finished middle school, and it was there when his sister passed away.

Other than his 6 best friends, no one knew what Jimin truly wanted to do with his life. Sing. Whenever he was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he gave the automated response. Doctor. Jimin realized that he had to watch what he said in front of his parents and other adults or else he would be stuck for an hour listening to how this job or that job doesn't make enough money. But Jimin never cared about that, he just wanted to be happy.

However, he also wanted to make his mom proud, so up until now, he's always been in the top 10 in his class and involved in a lot of activities. There was a certain satisfaction he got from his mom's happiness, but it was nothing compared to the joy he felt on stage or singing his songs to his friends.

Jimin sighed and looked up at the annoyingly blue sky. Not a cloud in sight. He heard footsteps coming up the stairs and prepare himself for the noise.

"JIMIN!" Taehyung shouted, as he walked over and put his arm around Jimin.

"How are you, Tae?" Jimin responded with a grin.

"Well, I was doing fine, until I didn't see you at lunch. What's up? Everything okay?"

"Of course, Tae. Everything's okay. Why wouldn't it be?"

Jimin and Taehyung walked down to the cafeteria, where all of their other friends were gathered. As they made their way to the table, someone rushed past Jimin and bumped into his shoulder.

"Sorry! Sorry!" the girl hurriedly apologized, as she rushed out of the cafeteria.

Eunhee. He recognized the familiar scent of coffee and began to wonder where she was running off to. As they sat down at the table, Namjoon asked, "Jimin, are you ready for the performance tomorrow?"

Jimin and the rest of the boys had gotten their very first gig at a local festival. They had been practicing for weeks now and had the choreography down.

Jimin nodded. "If we need somewhere to practice, we can all just meet at my house."

"That sounds great, Jimin!"

"What about you, hyung? Are you ready for tomorrow?"

"I just hope that everything goes well tomorrow. This could be our big break."

Big break. How nice. If only it were that easy.

The boys finished eating their lunches, in the midst of Jungkook bickering with Jin, Taehyung rapping with Hoseok, and Namjoon working out the final details with Yoongi.

He walked back to the classroom and noticed that Eunhee was gone. That's weird. She never misses or even ditches school. And he was right. As he took his seat, Eunhee sprinted into the classroom, trying to catch her breath, and took her seat.

He could've sworn that she had been crying. Her face was red and her eyes puffy. Something inside of him was urging him to ask her if anything happened, but part of him realized that he barely even knew the girl. She was always just there, and she was always okay.

Besides, he had his own problems to worry about, like his future and the festival tomorrow.

Before the boys started practice, they were making snacks, if you can call toast a snack. Namjoon and Jin were looking for spreads and things to eat with the pieces of toast, while Jimin and the others were in the other room waiting to practice.

"Jimin!" Namjoon called.

"What?" Jimin asked, as he ran over to the kitchen.

"Jimin, you got no jams."
