I think everyone should have a role model. Whether you agree or not, you have to admit that it can be kinda nice to have somebody to learn from and look up to. Most people like to dress or take inspiration from a celebraties when it comes to their appearance.

But it doesn't have to be a celebrity or a movie star. You can take inspiration from literally anything. A summer day, that one chick at your school whose outfits are always on point, your favorite songs or colors, maybe even a painting. The key to unlocking a better you, and to being happier with yourself is to reflect who you are inside. Wear your mindset.

Have you ever been around somebody who just oozes with confidence and charisma? Like, the moment you walk in a room you look for them, you want to be around them, to be associated with them. In my experience, the kind of person that everybody likes is the kind of person who is 100% confident in themselves. Who knows exactly who they are and what they want. That kind of self awareness comes from being comfortable with yourself. From self knowledge and understanding why you do the things you do.

So, who are you? Let's find out!

( I think this part is easier with a pinterest account, so if you have one go ahead and create a new board, if not just keep reading! :)

Go online and start to look for images you like. It could be pictures of outfits you like, maybe a country you want to visit, your fitness goals, or a snapshot of the sunset. Just find images that *click* with you. You can print them off, download them, or whatever. Just get them into a safe place where you can easily access them.

Now go back and look at your collection of photos. You should probably see a trend or a pattern start to emerge. Maybe a gravitation toward certain colors, settings, or themes. With this in hand you can start the makeover!

And it doesn't have to be anything super drastic, either. When you think of the word "makeover" you think of a quick, almost cinderella, like transformation. But what sucks is that's not how self improvement works. There isn't a fairy godmother who can give you the body of your dreams, a brand new wardrobe, or a prince charming. If you want those things you have to be able to put in a little work. Sometimes A LOT of work. Which might sound like a kind of terrible thing, but starting is always the hardest point.

The way you'll use the photos you saved is pretty simple actually. When you're shopping for clothes think first 1.) Am I actually going to wear this? 2.) Would the person I want to become wear this? and 3.) Does this fit my theme? Does it suit me?

Alter the questions a little to use them when you are buying furniture, getting a haircut, etc. These questions will help you determine if you will actually be expressing yourself. Of course, if something unique to your theme, or maybe doesn't fit, catches your eye, then by all means go for it. The questions are more like suggestions to get you on track.

Don't try to rush things. Relax. Work on improving yourself, and don't rush results. So don't run out right away and try to build an entire wardrobe. Work on building pieces that suit you and fit your theme. Figure out what you really want to wear.

Same goes for redecorating your room, or getting in shape. You can't change alot of things overnight, and that's okay. As long as you persevere and try to be a little better than you were the day before, you will reach your goals alot sooner than you'd think.

We know why we want to change, and we know what we want to change, now lets figure out how!
