Karma and Nagisa are two entirely different people. Karma is mischievous on the outside and calm on the inside. Nagisa is calm on the outside and has an evil lurking in his soul. These two balance each other out.

Today was my first day in the lowest class of Kunugigaoka High. Mother was pissed at me.
As usual.
I walked into the classroom and saw the desks were empty. Panting slightly, I sat down to wait for the rest of the class. The principal was evil. He made class 3E walk all the way up a hill just to separate us from the rest of Kunugigaoka High. It was as if he thought idiocy was contagious.
I heard the classroom door open and looked up to see a girl with teal shoulder length hair walk in. I saw her frown at me and ask 'why do you keep your hair tied like that?'
Now it was my turn to frown. What was wrong with my hair style? Mother made me keep it long because she kept trying to make me a girl. Because I couldn't stand having hair in my face, I had pulled it back into a ponytail.
'What do you mean?' I asked. She looked at me and smiled kindly, while saying 'I can put your hair in a better style, that's all I was trying to say.' Looking at her, I said 'you can try to if you want.'
She smiled and pulled an elastic off of her wrist. Reaching over, she pulled out my hair tie and pulled out a brush. After straightening my hair, she arranged it into what I assumed was pigtails. She handed me a mirror and asked 'what do you think?' I looked in the mirror and saw the pigtails. They looked surprisingly good! I smiled and said 'Thanks! My name is Nagisa. Nagisa Shiota. Nice to meet you.' I held out my hand.

At this, she said 'My name's Kaede. Kaede Kayano. It's a pleasure to meet you too Nagisa.' and she shook my hand. At this point the kids were starting to file in so she had to sit. When all of the kids were seated, a good looking man came in.

He walked to the head of the classroom and he said to us 'Hello class 3E. I am Tadaomi Karasuma. You may call me Mr. Karasuma. As I'm sure you've all noticed by now, a sizeable chunk has been taken out of the moon. The creature that did it insists on teaching this class for one year before he blows up earth. Your new job ...
