You returned to the office the next day, exhausted and drained.
Last night, Seokjin's question had caught you off guard. You did not answer his question and simply brushed it off telling him that it was late and you should head back. He did not pursue further either. He knew the complications and how hard everything would be for you.
He was perfect, too perfect to be true. Seokjin was the manager of the department you worked in. He was also the youngest manager in the entire organization. Even though his parents were the founders of the company, Seokjin never once abused or misused his authority.
Seokjin's parents were very strict with him, since he was the only child. They had very high expectations of him because he would be their successor one day. You had met them a couple of times, as Seokjin's subordinate.
You remembered the day when Seokjin had told you that he wanted to introduce you to his parents. You had pushed down the offer a couple times, in fear that his parents would not approve of you and Seokjin's relationship.
"I am very serious about this relationship, hence I really want to introduce you to my parents. Officially as my girlfriend," Seokjin said with a small smile as he strokes your cheek with his thumb.
"It's just a small luncheon party with my parents and a few of my relatives," Seokjin pleaded.
You bit your lips trying to hide your smile, as Seokjin started doing aegyo in front of you, trying to persuade you. It was impossible to say no to Seokjin's aegyo.
The luncheon was held at Seokjin's parents' house.
"Don't worry. I'll be by your side all the way," Seokjin said with an assuring smile as he tucked a stray strand of your hair behind your ear. He gave your hand a squeeze when both of you were at the gate in front of his parents house.
"Moreover, you are extremely lovable. They will love you," Seokjin added as he tugged my hand and lead me through the gates.
He was right. Everyone loved you. You were playing around with Seokjin's younger cousins and cracking dad jokes with his uncles.
"Did I hear a dad joke?" Seokjin's voice chirped behind you as he stepped beside you and his hand finding its way around your waist.
"Oh yes, where did you find this young lady? Man, can she crack an awesome dad joke," an older man in his fifties said as he wiped his tears of laughters off his face.
"I see you have met my uncle, Jaebum," Seokjin introduced, sounding relieved. Seokjin would be lying if he said he was not worried about you. His family may be nice but they could be a handful for people who just met them, especially if they knew you were Seokjin's girlfriend.
Seokjin shifted his hand to the small of your back.
"I will be back in a while," he whispered by your ear warmly but his eyes were distracted. Your eyes followed his broad wide shoulders as he walked towards his parents.
"He is one hell of a good looking fella, ain't he?" a man's voice boomed in front of you. You blinked and suddenly remembered Seokjin's uncle, Jaebum, was still standing in front of you. You nodded and blushed at the thought of someone catching you checking Seokjin out.
"It's amazing how that boy could stay cheerful with so much responsibilities on him. The company...his parents can be a handful," Uncle Jaebum concluded as he pressed his lips into a thin line as if regretting that he might have revealed too much.
You wandered around the party after Uncle Jaebum was distracted by the foods on the cocktail table. You observed that most of Seokjin's relatives were very attractive. Your eyes started scanning for Seokjin and found him chatting by the kitchen hall way with his parents. You made your way towards them, but decided to give him privacy and stood behind a wall at the entrance of the kitchen.
