Chapter 11: Broken

"So once the cast hardens you'll be free to go, Mr.Marchant here is a prescription for some pain medicine I want you to get for your brother. If you follow me, I can bring you to the pharmacy that is in the hospital." The doctor said.

"Certainly. I'll be back in a minute, you guys okay in here?" Aleks said.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." I said.

"Pain meds, fun." Matt mumbled. And with that, Aleks and the doctor left the room, leaving Matt and I alone.

"Well, I didn't think that your arm was broken. Thank god we came here to get it checked out." I said. I was sitting down on a chair near the hospital bed that Matt was lying in. His arm was up, a cast hardening on it.

"Yeah, honestly I thought it was just sprained or something."

"Hey, at least you've got someone to help you with your books and all that. Considering we can't bring our bags into class."

"You'll do that for me?"

"Yeah why not?"

"Thanks. Thankfully we have the same classes again."

"Weird right?"

 "Anyways, I think this thing is almost done, and I want you to be the first to sign it."

"Really? Even with my awful handwriting?"

"Yup. Then I'll probably get the rest of the team to sign it, as well as the Creatures." He scratched the back of his head with his free hand. "Think they'll do it?"

"Seriously? Eddie would probably do it even if you didn't ask him." I stood up and stretched. "I'm going to go and see if they have a gift shop or something like that in here. Maybe a vending machine, you want any food if I find it?"

"Sure."  I smiled and walked out of the room, I walked the halls of the hospital and couldn't find a shop. The only thing was the pharmacy the doctor had mentioned, and they had no food of any sorts. But, I did find a package of coloured sharpies, which I was planning on using on Matt's cast.  Thankfully I spotted a nice looking nurse, I stopped her and asked her if there was a vending machine nearby. She was kind enough and pointed out one to me that was just down the hall. I thanked her and went over to it. Great, now what can I get with five dollars.  After what seemed like forever, but was only about two minutes, I had picked out some M&M's and a Kit Kat. When I went back to the room, the door was still shut. Knocking on the door, I heard a calm voice invite me inside.

"Come in!" The voice hesitated for a second. "If that's Vixen, you'd better have brought me something to eat!"

"Calm down, I brought you something." I said opening the door. As I came in, I tossed the Kit Kat bar on the bed.

"O'oo! Wait a second." Matt said, he held up the candy and frowned. "I can't open it."

"Welp. More for me then." I said taking it with a smirk.

"Hey! That doesn't mean I didn't want it!" Matt replied.

"Fine, how's the cast coming along?" I asked opening up the candy bar. I broke it in two and put one of the pieces in his hand.

"Thanks." He said taking a bite.

"No problem, I also got these." I said holding up the M&M's. "As well as these, I thought multiple colours would look nice on your white cast."

"Cool, the doctor came in a couple of minutes ago and said that I had only a few more minutes. Aleks is waiting in the pharmacy still, he'll be back soon though, I think."
