I looked at the gym entrance and see Coach Nadine coming in with Amie, her assistant.

She introduced herself and so as her assistant to the new ones. As usual, she did her intro and talked about stuff then she introduced me. She told them about me being the captain last year and how I led the team to success.

"Any words?" She asked me. "Go ahead introduce yourself, even if you don't have to since of them knows you already." She whispered at me while giggling.

"Hi guys, as coach Nadine said, I'm Angelica and I'll be your team captain for the season just like last year. Also, I play as a setter, which is my main position." I said.

"She's really good at it." Coach Nadine interrupts.

"I'm looking forward to knowing all of you. Just be passionate of what you're doing, no pressure and Good Luck." I got a little insecure so I finished talking.

"Thank you Captain, I could feel that most of you are looking forward to that." She said and winked at me. "Alright, I'll stop talking and I'll pass you to Amy she's gonna explain stuffs to you first while I talk to the seniors." She said and gathered us around.

I don't know why but this little meeting is making me pressured.

"First of all ladies, I just wanna remind you that this is now your last season and I've told this last year to the old members too if you remember." She paused and looked at each of us.

I looked at Sam and Barbie and give each other a meaningful look. Crap, I know what this is already.

"I'll go straight to the point ladies. This is the year where there are scouts from every other university looking for aspiring athletes who they will recruit and offer you scholarships as a varsity student in their university. Now, some of you have already been given a heads up. And now, as one of the universities, UCLA just sent me an confirmation for those people and they just need your approval." She said with a wide smile.

I took a deep sigh. This is it. She talked to us three about us being recruited by UCLA and some Universities last year, which happened to be the best day of my life. Because even though it wasn't official, it is a big deal for us three coz UCLA is our dream school. I know that we don't need a scholarship for us to go there because of our family businesses, it's still a big deal because playing as a varsity in that school is already a pride for you to carry. But now, even though it's finally confirmed, I ever felt the same way as last year. Well, that's because of the damn offer our parents gave us which would be more favorable for them and the past I've been trying to figure out.

"Jek, are you listening?"Sam asked me.

"Sorry what did you say?" I said, I guess I've spacing out.

"Coach is calling you dumbass!" Barbie whispered to me.

Oh crap, I didn't notice that the practice started already. I pulled my knee pads up and run to my position.

"Sorry, sorry coach." I apologize.

"It's fine buddy, welcome to Earth!" She yelled and they laughed.

Several serves, receives, dig, set, spikes later and our practice ended. We're setting down the net and Coach went to us.
