The day started out completely normal: Wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, then run to school. It was perfectly normal, that was until her mother stopped her on the way out to break the news. "sweetie, you need to pack up your things once you get back home.
We will be moving in two days." States her mother, flos.She nodded to her mother and continued her jouney to school. She wasn't very surprised, frankly she didn't care. Her mother had told her a few weeks ago that they would be leaving for a village in the mountains. If she remembers correctly the village name is periculi terrae.
She was excited to explore the new land but it unnerved her how no one else knew of this village. Everyone she asked seemed to either just simply not know or they would get this cold look in their eyes, with anger underlying it, and walk away. She didn't understand why this always seemed to happen but it irritated the girl. She was very curious and desperately wanted to know about this mysterious place.
" And where is the first place to look for information on strange things no one wants to talk about?" the old woman paused before answering herself" The library of course."
'I'd have to go sometime during school' she thought. She looked up and realized that she had already arrived at school. ' I didn't notice so much time had passed. Better hurry to class then' she thought as she entered the building. "Saige!" someone shouted. She turned around to see Dalian running toward her.
"Oh, hey." She replied dully. "you seem awfully distracted today" he observed as he fell into place beside her." My mother reminded me we're moving in a couple days" she stated as the bell rang for first period to start. He suddenly stops walking " Wait what? You're leaving?" He questions. 'crap' she winces ' I forgot to tell him.'
She pauses " oh my did you hear that time for class!" She shouts as she runs to her classroom. "Saige!" He shouts after her but she had already turned the corner by the time he snapped out of his shock. As she turns the corner she roughly pushed herself back against the wall. She could hear him grumbling as he turned around and rushed to class.
She released a deep sigh before deciding to tell him after school. 'First I need information on the village then ill explain things to Dalian.' She then walks off to class ' I'm already a few minutes late what a couple more going to hurt' she thinks. As she arrives to class all eyes turn to her. The teacher decides she needed another lecture about tardiness and how it's important to be on time then tells her to take her seat.
She ignores the stares and the few glares directed at her as she heads to her seat in the back. Once she settles into her seat the teacher continues their lesson. Saige looks to her right and takes notice that Jessika is skipping first period again. 'typical Jessika' she internally snorts 'I'd be more surprised if she was actually in class for once' she then, half-heartedly, turned her attention back to the teacher.
She zones out after the first few words and the next thing she knows the bell to end first-period rings 'wow I could have been doing something useful instead of being in that class.' She thinks 'Oh well I have a free period now so I can go to the library see if it has anything on periculi terrae'
"Grandma, why do these people have such weird names?" a small brown-haired child asked. ''yeah and who is Jessika anyway?'' a slightly older blond child inquired. The old woman leaned back in her chair and gently smiled down at the two children" she was a friend of mine young one. It was different back then" she sighed before she says " That's all for tonight, my children. Grandmother is tired and it's past your bedtime" They look at the grandfather clock that reads '11:07'. The children whine for a little while before they finally give in and head to bed.
