"Okay now is everyone situated?" The old lady asks "yes" the children reply in unison. '"Well then, where did I leave off? I can't seem to remember?" She teases. "ooh! I know, grandma! I know!" The younger child shouts excitedly "the Saige was going to look in the librarby for books on percy teea!" The old woman laughs " Yes dear child, she was going to the library to look up information on periculi terrae. Now then...."
As Saige entered the library she noticed Jane sitting near the check out with her nose buried in another romance book while surrounded by what looks like twenty books. Saige could see janes eyebrows were furrowed and she was murmuring under her breath. The closer Saige got to her she could make out some of the words "No you idiot she belongs with Ophelia" she growled angrily.
Afraid to disturb her friend while she's in 'shipping mode' as Jessika has come to call it, she pauses and debates on backing away before her friend notices her. In a terrible twist of fate Jane she looks up in question "Saige?" Saige flinches before she turns to her friend and responds cautiously " Yes?" Her friend suddenly stands and runs the short distance between them "READ THIS. THOMAS IS TRYING TO FORCE HER INTO A MARRIAGE. HE ALREADY KNOWS HER HEART BELONGS TO OPHELIA. OPHELIA AND KATE ARE MEANT TO BE." Jane yells, as she shoves the book in her friends face, absolutely frustrated with the turn of events.
Saige just stands there staring in fear of her friends current mood. The librarian suddenly shows up behind Janes chair and shushes her. "Sorry" Jane whispered and looked down in mild embarrassment. " Anyway," Saige stated bringing attention back to herself "help me find a book" Jane looks back up at Saige filled with excitement, past events seemingly forgotten, she exclaims " Do you want a romance book! Cause I know a super-duper good one I found the other day!"
Saige just shakes her head and giggles before saying "No I need some information on that place I'm supposed to be moving to. " Jane just stares at her until Saige tries again " You know the one with the weird name." Jane blinks a couple times before smiling and saying " Oh yeah. I know what you're talking about!" She turns to her left where a few books were stacked and grabs the only green book in the stack and then grabs a pale blue book.
Jane turns around to give Saige the book with a light blush on her face and says " I figured you might want some facts and some lore and that kind of stuff. Did I guess right?" Saige grabs the book and smiles gently at Jane and laughs "of course. You know me too well. Should I be scared?" She teased. Jane laughs along with her but before she can reply Saige looks down at her phone and with her voice filled with disappointment she grumbles. " it's almost time for the next period to start."
" Well. I guess we should head to class." she looks up at Jane and Jane stares at her for a moment too long before she sighs and begins walking toward the librarian and asking if she can leave the books out for tomorrow. Saige walks toward the door and waits for Jane and the librarian to finish talking or rather for the librarian to finish scolding Jane for being so loud all the time. As she is waiting she takes this time to inspect the books further. Both books are worn from age but relatively clean. The green book has the words periculi terrae on it and the pale blue book has no words on the outside. Just a minute before the bell Jane is finally free and follows Saige to their classroom. They walk toward the back corner of the room near the windows. Saige notices a decrease in glares when she's with Jane and files that note away for another time. They look at Dalian and see him staring at his desk with a troubled look on his face.
He doesn't even look up as the girls' approach and they share a look of concern. They take their seats and seemingly have a conversation without words before Jane sighs and sends a mild glare in the direction of Saige, who has the look of guilt and relief on her face before Jane waves her hand in front of Dalian's face to get his attention. "Hey man, you okay? You seem pretty out of it today." Jane says as Dalian finally looks at her.
" What.. oh, hey Jane." he gives a weak smile and continues" When did you get here?" she huffs as her question goes ignored but replies anyway " I just got here. I met up with Saige in the library." She smiles as she looks toward her friend who is trying to merge with her desk to avoid confrontation with the boy sitting next to her. Jane then turns around and tries to finish homework from the night before. Dalian perks up after hearing Saige's name and looks to his right side at Saige.
He immediately begins questioning her about where she's supposed to be moving to and why he didn't get to know sooner. She explains that her uncle on her mother's side had died and her mother wants to move up there to comfort the family and take over the old farm he owned and gave to her in his will. She ignores his last question and shows him the books that Jane had given her in the library.
" I haven't read anything out of either of them yet but I'm sure this will tell you everything one could ever want to know about this place" she states looking down at the books " I plan to read them as soon as I get home or maybe if I have time here at school" she looks up at Dalian as he asks her "Why couldn't you just ask your mother about it? if she plans on moving there shouldn't she have at least some knowledge of the place?"
Saige sighs " I asked her and she said it was a surprise but I would-" she freezes and turns slightly to look out the window. " Did you see that too?" she questions still staring out the window. "No, I didn't see anything. I wasn't looking." Dalian responds confused" why what did you see?" she glances at him before staring back out the window.
" I could have sworn I saw a flash of white light" Dalian glances out the window " Maybe it was a person outside with something reflective?" he supplies unsure of himself. "Maybe" she mumbles but before she could theorize anything the bell rings and the teacher walks in. "We will talk later" Dalian whispers to her as the teacher begins to speak. Saige nods before grabbing the books back and putting them in her bag.
The old woman looks down at the children as she takes a break for speaking to notice the younger one has fallen asleep. She smiles as she looks to the other child who appears to be trying his hardest to stay awake. She gently picks up the smaller child and holds the hand of the other and take them to their temporary room. She leads the blonde child to the bed before laying his younger brother next to him. " Good night my children." she whispers "I'll tell you more tomorrow. sleep well." she then turns and heads to her own room for a nights rest.

Before you say anything yes, I know, library and periculi terrae are spelled wrong. It's a child saying it so it's not going to be perfect. Especially considering im writing it. Anywho im gonna try to make longer chapters but. writing. It's suprisingly difficult. This is about 1000 words by the way so be happy.
