Noragami: Fallen Grace

Yato duck the tongue that came from his right, slashing up the tongue fell. In one step he cut the phantom frog in half, turn around swiftly he cut another one.

"Sixteen," Yukine counted.

The blue eyes boy, eyes narrowed as he jumped back from a scorpion tail. The ground cracking caused Yato wobble.

"This is taking to long," Yato groaned out.

He stops an attack from a fly phantom, their legs pushing against the ground. Yato pushed back against it too, Yukine teeth grinding together as they both used their strength. Yato eyes scanned for an opening muttering to himself, ducking down, the Phantom flew over him. Sword up, he cut the phantom in half.

The next one came from his lift, the paw hit him square in the chest. Sending him tumbling back, hitting the ground with a loud thud. A blurriness filled his vision, the small throbbing pain came from his ankle. A groaning coming from his lips, blue striking eyes staring up, unfocused.

"Yato!"

In a quick movement, Yato lifted the sword up just as the phantom slammed his legs down.

              -----------------------------------

The battlefield was filled with dust particles. Tora gold eyes never once living the struggle Yato was going through. Sitting on top of a spider phantom, a yawn coming from the girl. Fanning herself Tora thought back to her master.

"Tora, I want this game to be fun. Boring games are never interesting" he stated. "Am I right?"

"Yes, But Master, why is this human girl important?" Tora asked curiously.

Hitomu leaned against the shrine walls, looking up at the roof that once covered the shine fully. Now, holes cover the roof, a birds nest made in one. Hitomu, silver eyes narrowing at it.

"Yato was once a name to fear, I want him to be that name again." Hitomu whisper. "That girl will bring out the old him, the old Yato is the one who must-"

Hitomu stops abruptly and looked at Tora.

"That's all you need to know," his voice cold. "Tora do as I ask with no question"

The white hair girl bowed her head, eyes closed. The pose of submission.

"Yes, master"

Never fully understanding her master, Tora was faithful. Obeyed every order, complete every mission. Tora was perfect, she never understood why her master will never open up to her. For years, she served him, yet still, he never gave her a hint of who he is.

A loud booming sounded bring torn out of her thoughts. Yato was on top of a flying phantom striking it in half, before moving on to the next one. From the way, he was moving it seems he was just attacking at random. Not giving a moment to stop and think which one can be holding the cure for his sweet human. A sinister smile on her lips.

         ----------------------------------------

Hiyori was floating in darkness. A place with no light, just darkness. She could hear fighting. The sound of grunts and yells, the feeling of pins and needles on her skin. But that was it.

Where am I?

Then a sudden burst of pain exploded in her head. Eye flying open, she came face-to-face with a sky paint in crimson.  Confusion clouded her mind as the burning pain locked all over her body. She was burning! Like someone set her on fire. Coughing, Hiyori laid on her side, blood sliding out her mouth. Eyes zeroing on Yato, who was on top of and phantom, cutting it in half.

"Ya..to" she whimpered out.

Her mouth barely moving. She wanted to call to him, get his attention. But why? Why does she need him? Rolling over, a violent cough shaking her body. The pain hitting three times hard causing her to arch her back eyes rolling.

Once the pain at least stops for a while, Hiyori eyes found where that Tora girl was at. She sat upon a phantom, a sinister smile crossing her face.

"One of the phantoms lay on the pure water to cleans, your precious Hiyori"

With wide eyes, Hiyori understood what she meant. Lay was the keyword, with all the phantoms coming at yet he wouldn't have time to even think about it. Switching her vision from Tora to Yato, she began to use whatever will or strength she had left.  Coughing and shaking as she pulled herself to her elbows, sharp pain sending her back flat on her face. She cried out. Eyes squeezed as pain rattled her body. Spitting out blood, Hiyori stood again.

Face showing pain but also determination as she Ross, hands on her knees. Breathing heavily, corner of her eyes turning black. Dizziness, finding her as she took a step forward no to let her self-fall. With all her might she screamed.

"Yato!"

         ------------------------------------------

Yato ducked then strike up, splitting the phantom in half. Whipping the sword behind him, he stabbed the phantom behind him in between the eyes.

"Sixty-sev-"

Yukine stop. A voice cutting through the mess of phantoms. Yato turned his eyes on a blighted Hiyori, magenta eyes narrowed with determination in them. Hands on knees her hair blowing in a breeze as the phantom became quiET. Yato eyes widen, completely bewildered by the hurt Hiyori standing.

She gave a smile, eyes looking at him.

"The bottle.....it lays under her" she shouted, breathlessly.

Then she fell forward, not moving. Yato eyes widen in horror as Yukine shouted Hiyori name. In the mass of phantoms, Yato walked forward, slicing each phantom that got in his way. The bright blue eyes taking a nasty look at them, he approached both the phantom and Tora.

        ----------------------------------------

"Do not fight him, We are only entertaining him"

The echo of her master words filled her head. Narrowing her gold eyes she lifted up her fan. The gold fan glowed, the golden light shine brightly. Then began to fill the place covering everyone in its light.

"I have not come here to fight you, god of calamity since you figured out where it was laying. I shall give it to you, nice playing with you."

The light illuminated everything, swallowing all the phantoms bursting them, as Yato covered his eyes.

"Until next time!"

The light disappeared leaving them in the park, the sun low in the sky. A breeze drifting by lazily, a small thud had Yato look down. Blue eyes landing on a bottle, or more to say a jug of water. Yato eyes narrowed and kicked the jug sending it skidding across the grass.

Yukine yelled. Yato turned around and walked to the non-moving girl. Reverting Yukine, Yato touched Hiyori. The blight stinging him, but he doesn't care. This blight was a darker purple from any regular ones. His eyes filled with confusion her pulled on her back. Lifting her, grunting his teeth as Yukine eyes watered.

"Is she okay?" He asked, watery eyes filled with worry.

"Let's get back to Kofuku place, she has more pure water then that bottle"

Yukine nod as they set off up the path to Kofuku place.

      ---------------------------------------------

Hiyori laId in the hospital bed with her mother around. Her human body was a little pale, in a minor coma, her father speaking quietly to a nurse. The room silent, the last rays slipping away for the world.

Her mothers praying silently hoping for the waking of her daughter.

"Please, wake my Hiyori"
