I don't know how many of you knew about the musical, but I have for a while now. When I first listened to the song I absolutely loved it. I know a lot of people don't like the idea of a musical and that a lot of people are actually okay with it. I personally think it is a fantastic way of remaking the books. (definitely better than the movies 😠😤)
From what I've heard, it is absolutely wonderful! And this song just captures Percy, or at least the young Percy from the first books. (Actually, probably captures him from all the books) The reason I say all the books is because Percy always blames himself.
Going a little off track here-
In the comments of this video there was a discussion about wether Percy was suicidal. Most people said no, he just accepted death if he ever got into that type of situation. For example, he was going to let himself die in that river in Tartarus whereas Annabeth realized what was happening. Percy lived for Annabeth (kind of how in this video Percy is always looking at her for strength) Another example is when he thinks of drowning himself when he falls into the Mississippi River in TLT. A few people also mentioned how Percy is a pessimist according to canon. He has self-esteem issues, and has moments where he wants to give up. Personally I think that it is his fatal flaw that is keeping him alive most times. His loyalty to other gives him motivation to live but it also makes him want to sacrifice himself. In conclusion, I don't think Percy was suicidal and if he was, he wasn't always that way. He has just come close to death so many times that it doesn't seem daunting anymore. I don't think he ever has suicidal thoughts, he just has come to terms with the prospect of dying. (If that makes sense)

I think it's cool how this video has scenes from the first book. It really shows how perfect the song is for this series.
