*double updates just for you mi bonitas. Enjoy*
I ran home and welcomed the emptiness in which surrounded me. I walked into the kitchen and saw a note hanging on the fridge.
"Got some overtime as well as your dad. There's $40 on the dining room table. Order whatevs. Coming home around 11. Love mommy :*.
I cringe at my mother's epic fail attempt to be cool. Sweet. Says my subconscious. 8 hours alone... no biggy. I grab the $40 and put it in my bra. As I'm about to get my laptop from upstairs, my phone from downstairs rings. I pick it up, cursing as I stub my toe.
"Hello?" I say wincing.
"Hey, it's Darrel," My eyes get wide at the mention of his name and my tummy erupts with butterflies. "is this Genesis Macenfield?"
"Erg...Umm...Yeah, Darrel," I stammer. Way to be cool, nerd. My smart-ass subconscious says. "I just got rid of you" I say to my self...
"Huh?" ...or so I thought.
"Not you Darrel... Hey girl get the hell outta here! You crazy ho, luv ya!" I say making up a fake acquaintance. "I'm so sorry about that Darrel...as you were saying?"
"Oh yeah," he says as uncomfortableness traces through his deep, sexy, exotic... voice,"Me and my clique are going to Denny's tonight. Aaron and Mark got girls who refuse to come unless they have another vag... chick there. Wanna be that chick?"
I stand their in awe. Me, Genesis Macenfield, just got asked out by Darrel Highwaters. My awe turns into confusion. Why in the world would a hunk like Darrel ask a girl like me out?
"Is this some kind of twisted scheme?" I said in a unfamiliar voice. It almost seemed as if brave and courage was entwined within my voice.
"Whatsoever do you mean, sweetie?" My heart did back flips for when he said the final word. However, it plops right on its face when I hear stifled laughter and giggles from the other end, none of them belonging to Darrel.
I try not to make my voice crack once I go to answer his question with an obvious answer,"You know what Darrel, of course I will..." I start,
"curse you and your friends out; Fuck you and your friends too!" I sing into the phone, then I hang up and do the "drop the mic" thing; on the sofa of course.
Its a $600 phone, I ain't got that kind of money.
I hope he knows he missed out on his other half who also knows how to sing better than any other chick. Conceited? I think not.
After my Darrel ordeal, I decide to put to use the $40 given to me by mummy. I got a pizza delivered along with wings and cinnamon sticks. As soon as it arrived, I went binge eating. Darrel really hurt my feelings-leading me on like that. I decided to save his number under, 'Lil D***". See I used ascetics in order to keep the purity.
Even though I cursed him out a little over an hour ago.
I aint got no worries. Tuenchi!!!
Throughout that hour, he's been calling me back and his name shows up on the screen each time. However, this last time "My Hitta" comes and on and I know it's my best male friend, so immediately answered it.
"Hey, Kenan," I try to add cheeriness to my voice so he doesn't notice my current sadness.
"Hey, baby girl," smoothness laced through his voice. No we don't have a thing. We're extremely close and we are those types of friends. He's like a big bro, yet so much more.We met in preschool and helped each other through rough patches. 'what happened?"
Damn, he's good.
"Is it that obvious?" I question him, and I feel him nod "I can't tell you cause might go off."
"Facetime,now" he groans.
I do as I'm said to do and press the lil facetime emoticon. That's why I am and ALWAYS will be team Apple. They are so very beneficial. In less than 10 seconds Kenan answers. He's sitting there shirtless and smirking.
"Like what ya see, bæ," he playfully smirks. Yes, we are flirtatious but there's no harm "your lucky not many girls are able to even talk about these babies," He says regarding his abs.
"I see your as arrogant as always," I say rolling my eyes, ignoring his prior question; seeing it not necessary to add fuel to the fire. I'm hoping he doesn't remind me of the purpose of this facetime and it can just be playful. "how are you?"
He raises his eyebrow and shakes his head,"No,no,no, no changing subjects. What happened?" He reprimands bringing up the one subject I don't wanna speak about right now.
I recollect the memory in my brain. From Darrel asking me out for a "date", to his confusion while I was reprimanding my subconscious, from when they were laughing at me for my gullibleness and finally cursing him out.
Aw shit.
He's not smiling no more.
He stopped a while ago.
"He was about to trick you into hanging out with him and his pussy ass friends and you cursed him out?!?!" Kenan was outraged. Oh snicker doodles, my subconscious is loud as fudge.
"Maybe," I mumbled. I looked up and saw rage and sadness in his eyes he sighed. That's why I love him so much... as a friend.
Another sigh escapes his lips," Quit sighing so much, your abbs might deflate," I say trying to lighten the mood.
While rubbing his temples, he looks up and does a laughing sigh. The next thing I see and hear nearly breaks me.
Whoopsie... cliffhanger. Lo siento mis bonitas. I have exams soon so that means half days. I'll try updating then. No promises.
A girl once said, "Ellas necesitan Jesús," that girl was me when I saw a bunch of girls twerking on Jerry Springer. The first one who can translate that gets a shout out for their book and/or dedication. I'll translate it into other languages below.
