It was just a normal school day, kids were bullying me as usual, and I was acting as if nothing had changed. "You're such a loser, no wonder nobody likes you!", one kid yelled at me as I sat down on the bench in the schoolyard to watch the others play. I ignored it, but then a group of kids came up to me; they started saying things like "nobody loves you!", and "You should just kill yourself already!". I then decided that I couldn't take it anymore! Gathering my strength, I pushed the kids away- tears filling my eyes and a fire inside of me- and I kept running until I could see none of the bullies anymore. I knew I shouldn't run away from my problems, but I felt I had no other choice but to do that.
Eventually, I found a tree in the schoolyard with no people in the area; no people to make fun of me, I was finally at peace. Thinking about what had happened, I buried my head in my knees and began to sob wondering if what they said was really true after all, and that maybe nobody did love me; besides, what would anyone want from a broken emotionless girl like me? Nothing is the answer, because nobody wants a girl that will always be broken and useless. About five minutes later, I heard what sounded like footsteps, and the pitter patter of feet. Looking up to see who was there, I saw a boy gazing at me with a worried look on his face.
He then opened his mouth to speak and said "why are you crying? Did something happen to you?".
"Everyone at school always bullies me!" I said beginning to sob once more. With a small glance, he said " I've heard of you before, people always say that you're broken. But you don't look broken at all; you just look like a normal girl, so why would they say that?". I replied "People are cruel and will always say things about you that you won't always like, but you just have to remember that there will always be a brighter day" I said with a slight smile. "
"Your name's Amber right? I'm Mason, nice to meet you!"
"Yes that's my name" I replied, "it's nice to meet you too!"
"Do you want to be my friend?" He asked me. "I'd love too" I quickly replied; finally, in all these years, I had finally made a friend.
