This is a crush imagine by the way!

y/c = your crush

It was a family friends wedding, and a special someone just happened to be there. Now you love to dance. And throughout the whole night all of your friends had been tell you he was going to ask you to dance. You told them no, but you started to wonder. Maybe he would. You had told your friends about all of the flirtatious things he does to you. He put his hands on your shoulders, elbows, and flirts like crazy. It drives you crazy. You've been attracted to him since you met him. Over time this attraction starts to grow into liking and now your what you could call obsessed, but in a good way.

Earlier in the night you spotted a different girl that arrived, you started to worry what if he would like her better then you? But you re-assured your self. He has you, why would he dance with her, like her? And you don't mean it in a weird way, but if he likes you why would he like  her?

Now of course she was the complete opposite of you. Short, blonde, and skinny. But you just shook it off.

(I have nothing against girls that are short, blonde or skinny!!!! One of my besties are the exact same)

Finally the dancing part of the night had begun. At first you were a little worried and not really wanting to dance, because he was watching and who knows what he was going to think? But once you and your friends started to dance and you just sort of forgot about him. (not really, but you stopped worrying) You were having a blast. But of course it would have been better if he was there dancing with you or even you and your friends. He of course was sitting by the tables on his phone with his brother. The two of them were older then you and your friends, but all of you had known each other since you were little.

Fortunately for you his mother decided that the two boys should have a dance. You looked over to your cousin (who was one of your best friends) as he and his brother stood up and walked over to you guys. She was smiling at you. But he went straight for your friend who also happened to be his younger sister. While his brother danced with your sister, and your cousin danced with her brother who was a great dancer. The only person left was your crushes younger brother who was 9 years old and WAY shorter then you. So you danced with him for like three minutes before he was tried of that and went and sat down on a bench. You sighed and leaned against the wall, watching everyone dance. You sneaked a peak at him. His back was to you, so you got nothing but his extremely tall figure. After a couple of minutes you walked back over to his younger brother and tried to get him to dance with you. But before you could convince him, your crush comes with his sister and barges right through the middle of you and his brother, of course he was the one that was one your side and his sister was on his brothers side. You laughed slightly annoyed, because now his brother was definitely not going to dance with you and you where left there by yourself. With no one to dance with.

About an hour later, you and your cousin walked over to her brother who just happened to be sitting but your crush, and you asked your cousin if he wanted to dance. You had danced with him earlier and had a blast. Plus you sort of want to make him jealous. ;) (your evil side shining through) He begrudgingly accepted, but as the two of you danced be began to lighten up and have fun. He twirled you back and fourth and you could have sworn that your crush was looking at you as he twirled you.

After awhile you sat down and started to relax. You noticed over the night that y/c's dad and his sister had been trying to convince him of something. You heard the words 'it's one dance', 'she's a nice girl'. You tried not to get your hopes up but your hope raised a little bit, especially when you saw him walking over to you and stopped in-front of you.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked you.

"Yes." you said and nodded happily.

The two of you danced to the Jig. You glanced up at his face to see a small smile forming on his as he looks down at you. You of course were beaming. The song ended and you watched as other people took turns dancing to the music.

But wait.

It wasn't you dancing with him.

It was the other girl.

The pretty girl.

The one that you thought you didn't have to worry about.

It was her that he walked over to.

It was her that he smiled down at when they were dancing.

It was her that he asked to dance.

Not you.

It was never going to be you.

It's always going to be her.

And never you.

-----------------

So a little background to that story. It happened to me. Yup. I had to watch as the guy I've liked for 6 years dances with some other girl. It hurts, like really bad. But I can't be mad at him because we aren't together. So I am currently sad at him. But that was almost a year ago now, and right now he has a girlfriend, (not the same girl) but she's the total opposite of me I might add. It sucks like really, really sucks. The entire time I've known him he's flirted with me and I'm really sick of him.  but I can't hate him, because I like him. Like why? I hate life sometimes. But I got rid of him on snap chat and insga. so ohhhhhh welllllllll. Sorry that was like a major rant!!! Well see you next time, and I promise it will be a Derek imagine not a real life sob story. Bye!
