The Truth

After we took out the titans in sight, I told my squad to split up into groups. Armin with Ymir, Sasha with Connie, and me...with Eren. I was so excited, but I kept my cool. Eren looked serious as always. It was a cute type of serious. Maybe today's the day...Maybe today I can confess to him. We were separated from everyone else, when I stopped on a tall tree. My gear barely used, glistened in the sun. Eren was next to me. He still had a serious face, looking out for more titans, as I expected.

"E-Eren..." I said nervously. I never felt this feeling of nervousness before.

"Yes." He replied, curious of what I had to say. Still cautious, he looked around.

"I really...I really admire you."

He looked at me confused. "Thank you, Captain."

"No...I think you misunderstood me. I-I am in love with you, Eren Jaeger." I said, bolder than before.

"S-Sir?"

"From the moment I met you...you have been on my mind. That day, during your trial, I hurt you...I am very sorry. I had no other choice, but I caused you so much trouble. But you, Eren, have inspired me to become a better person...to become more "humane". For that, I thank you." I let out a sigh of relief. It felt so amazing to say the truth...but what will he reply with? My heart felt as if it was about to burst out of my chest.

"C-Captain...thank you."

Eren was blushing? Could this mean..."Eren...Would you happen to feel the same?" My heart pounded faster and harder.

"Well...Well, Captain Levi!" He quieted down. 'I-I've felt this way for a while..."

"Really!?!" Calm down, Levi. Calm down.

"Haha...yeah. But, Sir?"

"Yes?" I smiled.

"I'm so happy you told me..but is this really the right time for this?"

I looked around, a titan was coming in path. "Oh..haha...sorry. You're right, Eren. We have a mission to complete."

"Right!" He smiled at me.

My heart melted. I have a reason, now. A reason to live..to survive this war. Thank you, Eren, for being that reason.
