November 12, 8am

I awake to Maya's cat, Scout, nibbling on my nose. Today is our birthday and I am quite excited. The sun has risen rapidly, and the aroma of honey and cinnamon fills the air.

"Good morning, darling. Happy birthday." Maya greets me as I skip into the kitchen. "You seem happy."

"I am, and you should be too. Happy birthday."

"Are you excited for tonight?"

"Hell yeah! I'm stoked. Pretty ready to see Andy again too." I smile as the memory of our day together comes to my mind and I light a cigarette.

"Me too. First, we have some work to do."

We both shower and get dressed in our new outfits. We look stunning. I hope I meet a cute guy there because I hate being single. It'd be cool to meet a guy that likes the same stuff I do. Don't get me wrong, I do like Andy, but he has tour and he's always so busy. There's no way he'd ever date me.

5:30pm

My makeup is completely done, and I'm officially ready. I added a small wing to my eyeliner to give it an extra flare and also put on some red eye shadow to add to the pop of my outfit.

"Maya, hurry up!"

"I'm coming!" She exclaims, running back to her room to grab her bag.

We drive quickly to the venue. Excitement filling our bones. Security guards are guarding the doors. It's 7 o'clock and they'll be opening any second. As they open them, people file in. Luckily, Maya and I got here early enough to be right in the front. People shove through and crowd the stage behind us. The only thing between us and the stage is a small gate with a little pit in front if it. We are so close. I can't help but smile from the overwhelming feeling of excitement that washes over me.

William Control performs four of his songs before retreating backstage. The lights dim and The Overture begins playing loudly from the speakers. I see CC walk onstage to his drum set, then comes Jake, Jinxx, Ashley, and finally, Andy.

"How're you fuckers doing tonight?!" Andy yells through the mic. The crowd screams in reply, and Andy grins devilishly. "Alright. This song is called Wretched and Divine!"

They play Nobody's Hero next and then Perfect Weapon. Everyone is cheering and screaming, and then there's me. Too caught up in my thoughts to enjoy myself. Just when I start to feel okay, they start to play Lost It All. Andy's deep voice fills my mind and tears swell in my eyes. I stand there with my head down, placed in my hands. I feel a slight touch on my cheek. I look up to find Andy standing directly in front of me, singing. He stops for a moment and holds the mic down by his side so that no one will hear, and gestures the guys to continue playing.

"Kara, why are you crying? No matter what you're going through, there's always someone out there for you, including me and Maya. Don't let things get you down. it's okay." He explains lovingly.

"You don't understand." I walk through the crowd of people and out of the venue, my face cupped in my hands.

10pm

I'm sitting on the ground against the side of the building, taking long drags from my half-smoked cigarette. I hear the music stop as the concert comes to a close, and I bury my head in my knees. I ignore the opening and closing doors, loud voices and screaming fans as much as I can.

"Uhm, hello there. Are you okay, sweetheart?" One of the band members approaches me. His hair is long, dark and covered in a sailor's hat. He had a large tattoo that reads OUTLAW on his stomach, and that's when I realize that it's Ashley.
