A voice boomed though my head, low and threatening. I couldn't make out much of what it said but it repeated a simple phrase over and over again. Then an image flashed in my mind, a very pale, thin figure sitting upon a large obsidian throne. He had long, bleach white hair and the whites of his eyes were blood red. There was a strange ominous purple gem on top on his throne matching the smaller one set onto a silver band across his forehead. He smiled at me with black teeth and repeated the phrase once more, "Be afraid, Morgan Flamore."

I woke in a cold sweat. My room was dark, the only light was the dull moonlight dripping in through the windows. Climbing out of bed, I concluded that I would not be going back to sleep that night. As opened the door, chill air melted over my nerves, numbing the memory of the nightmare I'd just had. I continued down the hall, not knowing exactly what I was going to do, until Kay's voice came from behind me. I turned around to face him, his silvery white hair practically glowing in the moonlight.

"Can't sleep?" He asked.
"No, I just had a bad dream." I replied, trying to decide whether to tell him about it or not.
"Oh, do you remember what happened in this dream?" His expression showed some kind of worry or fear. This alarmed me.
"Well there was this man, speaking to me from... like a throne or something."
"What did he say?"
"I can't remember, I only know he addressed me by my name, but then used a different sir name... Flamer or something like that." Kay looked into my eyes for a long moment.
"Neither of us are going back to sleep now, so go change into your training attire and meet me by the dining hall."
I did as he said.

The leather was cool on my skin, and very well fitted. I wondered how they got my size so perfectly. Kay was standing at the entrance to the dining hall picking at his perfectly manicured nails as he waited.
"Follow me." He said once he saw me on the stairs. He walked down a hallway to our left, practically swinging his lean body, and stoped at a large oak door at the end of it. When I caught up, he opened it to reveal a big, open room, one wall full of weapons and another had obstacles mounted all over it.

"This is the training hall," he said, "where Elex and I have taught everyone here how to use and control their powers."
"So you're going to teach me how to use mine now?"
"Yes, but you have to calm yourself first." I did as he told me to and took a deep breath. Kay smiled, "There you go." Kay inched closer to me in this huge room, and relaxed his long arms. "Now you need to close your eyes and search through everything you are, through all your pain and joys. Find your fire and spark it, so it burns brighter."

I closed my eyes, searching and remembering my mother and my father, my brother and my baby sister. Who they made me and how they shaped my life. I remembered how my mother adored my red and orange eyes, how my brother teased me for them. I imagine the fire deep down in my soul waiting to be discovered and used with all the power I was made with.

All of a sudden my body felt warm, a sort of heat running through my veins, rewarding me with a rush of energy. I opened my eyes to see Kay standing in front of me, smiling. I must've looked confused because he gestured, still smiling, to my hands, which were glowing yellow, wisps of flame on my finger tips.

"Well done," he grinned, "you managed to do that in record time."
