After Hansol left Soo Ah's apartment for his afternoon shift, Soo Ah chose to just do her groceries. She bought only what she needed, a few snacks, fruits, mostly ramyon, everything she would actually eat. She put everything in its place and sat on her couch grabbing her laptop.
Kim Heechul here I come!
Soo Ah opened up her laptop and went on the website where she watched KDramas and shows online. Clicking on the icon to her show she sat back against the cushion and began to watch Knowing Brother, episode 21. She laughed at whatever witty comment Heechul had to say. Soo Ah had only wanted to watch that one episode, but soon she was already 10 episodes past what she planned.
Halfway through the episode, her phone buzzed twice, alerting her that she had received a message.
Soo Ah picked up her phone, seeing that it was going to be 11 soon. She looked at her notifications and saw two messages from Hansol, she clicked on the icon.
After reading that last message, Soo Ah's face turned red and her heart started to pound rapidly. She didn't know why she felt this way about a text message, but chose to ignore it and open the door to the boy waiting outside in the cold.Soo Ah opened the door to see a shivering Hansol holding a bag full of coffee and what looks like a few cake pops. His face was paler than usual and his cheeks and the tip of his nose were a slight shade of pink. He walked in hurriedly and sighed as he breathed in the warm air.
"Ahh.... You're house is nice and warm. I was dying out there!" He exaggerated.
"You should've.." Soo Ah muttered, opening the bag and taking out the things inside.
Hansol walked over to her couch and saw Soo Ah's laptop and the bundle of blankets and pillows and gasped shockingly, startling Soo Ah a bit.
"You liar! You weren't sleeping at all!" Hansol yelled and pointed his finger at Soo Ah.
"Well no duh! I just said that because I wanted to continue watching Heechul be a savage." Soo Ah said and chuckled lightly remembering what Heechul had said to HoDong.
"I suddenly feel unwanted.." Hansol said to her as he began to eat one of his cake pops.
"So what are we supposed to do anyway? I'm pretty sure you came here because you're a loner and had too much sugar."
"Oh that's coming from the girl who's watching kshows on her laptop at 11 at night, and I was just planning on drinking these with you and maybe get to know you more" Hansol's said handing her a can of doubleshot.
Soo Ah opened the can and gulped down a sip as if she was drinking soju. Her face scrunched up as she immediately regretted her actions.
"That's so nasty! How do you drink that?!" Soo Ah said as she watched Hansol drink his can and put it in the bag as trash. He only shrugged and grabbed another one, doing the process over again. Soo Ah sighed and sipped on her drink, slowly getting used to the strong taste.
30 minutes passed, Soo Ah and Hansol were now completely out of coffee and were starting to feel the caffeine course through their veins. They started off by telling some of the worst jokes of life, making the other cringe so hard that they wheezed. They would play rock, paper, scissors, which only resulted in making weird hand gestures that didn't even make sense. Then it was just an uncontrollable wave of laughter, it was as if they were laughing at the presence of each other's company. Soo Ah couldn't breathe and the pain in her jaw and stomach wasn't helping, Hansol's face was a deep color of red as he held his mouth, trying to stop it from laughing.
Soon their sugar high was coming to an end, and they began to feel the aftermath of it all. They sat side by side on the floor against the wall, both of their heads throbbing. It was 3 am and mostly all of their neighbors should've been asleep by now.
Hansol then shifted to sit in front of Soo Ah.
"How come you moved from America, away from your parents and friends and stuff?" He asked now eager to know about her past.
Soo Ah sighed and looked around the floor, remembering why she really came to Seoul.
"Well the reason I came to Seoul was because.." Soo Ah started slowly. She was a bit hesitant about what she was going to say but it didn't matter at this point, it was nice to finally have someone to talk to in so long.
"It was because my parents and I never really had a strong bond, and after I turned 18, it seemed like they only tried getting me out of the house. So I worked a part time job at a shoe store until I had enough money saved to come to Korea."
"What about your friends? Wasn't it hard to leave them behind?" Hansol looked at her with a slight change in his attitude, he never expected Soo Ah to have such an unfortunate past, but then again he only met her a few weeks ago.
"I only had one close friend actually, the people where I lived weren't the most trusting people. And yeah it was hard to leave Ha Dong Jae, he was the only thing in my life that didn't aggravate me, but before I was even planning my trip he had already mentioned going to some college somewhere else. So I figured why not just leave." Soo Ah said sighing deeply.
Hansol's eyes shifted to the floor, feeling Soo Ah's now sad aura.
"It's honestly extremely hard, living alone in a city where you know absolutely nothing and no one. It's only been a few days and I already feel alone-" Soo Ah was cut off by Hansol as he looked at her with worry in his eyes.
"You're not completely alone... I'll be here to help you with whatever you need me to. I know we haven't known each other for long but that's how friendships begin anyway. I'll be your friend! You don't have to feel alone.." Hansol said. It seemed as if Hansol was mad or maybe bothered by the fact that Soo Ah felt alone. But neither of them knew why.
Soon after their conversations began to die down, both of them falling asleep next to each other on the floor.
