Chapter 1
On a May afternoon in 2003, there he stood in the middle of the court room, falling to his knees as his heartbeats desperately and his hands sweats profusely. On the stand sat his ex-girl friend Tessa speaking every word she could think of to degrade him to prove her point that she was most fitted to care for their son. As her words spread through the court room, the jury and the crowd amongst the court room began to take notice of Gordon knelling before the courts. When in fact, Gordon was knelling before God for an answer to his prayer, he had been misrepresented by both attorneys’ handling their case for custody and he was at his wits end.
On the surface, he felt weak and at a lost but in his spirit he knew true strength could only be found through prayer.
A face appeared. It was that of a young child reaching for his hand. He lifts his head, followed the gentleness of the small hand with his eyes and the voice of the child spoke. “Daddy, it’s ok, I am going home with you, I promise.”
It was as if God had spoken directly to him through this child and confirmed him.
When he regain himself, he noticed there wasn’t a child in the court room and wondered how his son appeared to him.
Realizing he had spent more time thinking about his struggling fights with Tessa over their son, and his concerns about a life without his son that he forgot the great love between they had them. Seeing his son before him gave him the courage he needed to stand up and take on the ruling of the court. He pulled himself up, and, began one of the most extraordinary odysseys of the second coming of great power and strength ever experienced.
Suddenly, there was this great light appearing before him, he saw himself grabbing his son, squeezing him with all his might and walked to the booth were Tessa was sitting, and then asked her a question.
“Do you love our son?”No answer.
The court room mumbled, all eyes directed at her and she began to get flustered.
“Do you love our son? Still no answer, then attorney Roberts shouted,
“Judge, he is badgering my client.”
Journey spoke again leaning closer to her face, “Do you love our son?” she screams at the top of her lungs, grinding her teeth in her response “No, no, no, I hate him.”
The room became silent, the attorney slams a folder on the table in disgust and Tessa’s husband puts his head down. Tessa realized what she said and tried to correct her words. "Wait, that's not what I meant" she pleaded to be heard. "I love my son, I do, I hate what this situation has done to us"
