Chapter 9:Almost the end?

You all enter the Core. The elevator wasn't working so you had to take a different route. You ended up in Mettatons arena after forcing your way through mercenaries in the Core. You went through the battle and Mettaton revealed the truth of Alphys and her intentions. After that Alphys notified you three about the true requirements of the barrier and ran off. Frisk went back saying she needed to help her and ran off aswell leaving only you and Chara to continue on by yourselves

"Well... It's just two of us..." You said

"Yup..." Chara said

With that you two entered the elevator and moved. After it stopped you two stepped out and continued there was another elevator however it wasn't working so you continued, passing building and following this long path... Chara seemed hesitant. Eventually you two reached a house... Exploring you had monsters explain the story about Asriel and the first fallen human... Finding the key to the locked chains, you unlocked it and pressed onward. Only for more monsters to explain the rest of the story about the first fallen human. Chara is surprisingly quiet... The path was long with monsters talking about the story along the way. Eventually the monsters finish the story and another elevator appears and ot works, taking you two back to the beginning. You were about to enter again but Chara stopped you.

"Hmm? Chara, is there something you need?" You questioned

"Yeah... Can we take a rest, at the house...?" Chara asked

"Oh! Sure, are you tired?" You asked

"Umm, kinda..." Chara said

"Ok." You said

Then you two returned back to the house. Chara entered the bedroom with two beds, you had taken the presents and hid them under a bed. You took a seat in the other, finding it very comfy. You two just there fpr awhile until Chara spoke up

"Y/N..."

"Yes Chara?" You said

"I... I have something to tell you..."

"What is it?"

"Its... Something personal and I want you to keep it a secret, so tell no-one, ok?"

"Alright."

Chara took a deep breath

"You'll believe me, right?"

"Pretty much everything you say is true, so of course I'll believe you." You assured

"Ok... So... Y/N... I'm the first fallen child..." Chara said

"Oh really!" You said

"Yeah..."

"Then why did no-one recognize you?" You questioned, actually curious aswell.

"You see... I don't know, like I'm pretty sure I would be recognized but for some reason I am treated like a brand new person... And believe it or not we are in this thing called a timeline where we, or should I say Frisk had the power to reset and before you ask it's basically like reversing time, but when you came Frisk nor I couldn't do it, so I have high doubts you can either, also a lot changed ever since you came like all the save points are missing which is basically a checkpoint for the reset and when you came they all disappeared! I tried to think of a logical reason as to why on our journey but none added up. So I decided that I will actually try do something soon. And then there's the memories, particularly from a place this it brings a lot back but you see when I was with Asriel... I... I..."

Chara started to tear up

"I messed up everything!"

Chara started to cry, you felt bad for her and tried to comfort her, getting up and sitting next to her and put your arm around then gave her a hug while patting her back

"H-hey, it's ok, you didn't mess up everything" you said

"Y-yes I did... I got him killed!" Chara cried out

"Well, uh, that was a long time ago and if he was here I'm pretty sure he would understand."

"Really?" Chara asked

"Yeah..." You assured

After some time Chara stopped crying and got comfortable in your embrace.

"Sorry you had to listen to my problems..." Chara said

"It's ok, I'm sure you needed to let that out. Also... I'm here for you so if you need me, don't hesitate." You said with a smile

"Heh... Thanks, you're really nice... If you don't mind can I ask you something?" Chara said

"Sure, what is it?"

"How did you wind up falling in here?"

That question made your blood run cold, you couldn't tell her the truth as you wouldn't know how she would react and you couldn't think of any convincing stories as to how or why you've fallen here. Being suicidal is not a good response as it is saddening and a straight lie. Saying you have climbed up here to explore and tripped down the hole was too generic and mostly unbelievable. You also couldn't say-

"Hey!" Chara exclaimed, pulling you out of your thoughts.

"Are you gonna answer the question?" She asked

"Oh... Um..."

Suddenly you heard the front door open and Chara stood up. Then the door to your room opened and revealed Frisk.

"Hey! I knew that I'd find you two here. Are you guys resting?"

"Umm, yeah." You replied

"Oh! That's good as I have rested too." Frisk said

"Where have you been?" Chara asked

"I was back at the lab and helped Alphys. Also I took a rest." Frisk replied

"Well that's good because me and Y/N have rested up aswell." Chara said

"Alright! Let's go!" Frisk said

We all followed the long pathways again and ended up in the hall of judgement. After a few steps in Sans appeared from nowhere. He gave us our 'judgement' and said we never hurt or killed anybody. After that he disappeared.
We were met with one more long hall and met Asgore, the king. He gave us the awkward introductory and went off. As we followed him he made comments. Eventually we made it to the barrier. Asgore asked us if we had any unfinished business. All three of us looking at each other we nodded. We were ready. Asgore had put us into a fight and let us know that it was nice to meet us. As he said that he looked down, about to start the fight.
