Time skip: one week:
I have started to get... Doubtful that I will ever return BUT I'm still thinking there's a chance because in the end of the game it pulls up some scenes of the characters in the surface before the game truly 'ends'. However every single scene I remember has already passed... Anyways monsters were gladly accepted into society. I thought there would be some complaints, a protest, anything! Of the monsters return but no. They were all just accepted. Of course I've simply sat in my room all week (They gave us a house for free due to being included in the monsters release). I only came out for Toriel calling us for food and for Chara sometimes. Frisk tried to get me into being another 'ambassador' but I refused the offer.
I hope today is the day I return...
Time skip: one week:
I've pretty much given up on returning... If I did, it would've done it in the first week... I try to blend in but I have nothing to do, so I sit in my room and whenever the thought of never returning crossed my mind, I always feel like panicking or something but at the same time feel like I shouldn't bother with anything. Ever.
So I sit in my room pondering of what's to come.
*knock *knock
The sound of my door brings me out of my thoughts.
"Come in." I say
The door opens, revealing Chara. However she seems worried...
"Is something wrong?" I ask
"Um, yes, you've been in your room most of the time and rarely come out... So I wanted to see something." Said Chara
"Um ok, what is it." You said
"Stand up." Chara said
You stood up
"Alright check it out" Chara said
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath and she seemed to be focusing on something. You were gonna ask what she was trying to do until you saw a bright red heart or 'soul' come out of her chest. You were surprised.
"How'd you do that?" you ask
She opened her eyes and smiled
"Basically you focus on wanting your soul out." She said as her soul returned to her "You try."
"Alright" you said
You closed your eyes and focused on your soul... Then you went and focused on making it come out... You felt something and opened your eyes. Right in front of you was your (S/C) soul. Something seemed... Off? Nah, it's probably because you haven't seen your own soul in awhile. You looked at Chara to see her reaction. She seemed to be observing your soul very closely... As your soul returned, Chara seemed to be deep in thought.
Chara POV:
His soul got darker... That's bad. And I don't even know why. We all escaped and we got the 'best' ending. What could be causing him so much trouble? I mean-
"Hey. You there?" Y/N asked, interrupting my thoughts
"Hmm, yeah."
"Is that all?" Y/N questioned
"Actually I was hoping you'd come with me to the store." I said
"What for?" He asked
"You know some spare groceries and... Chocolate." I replied
"Don't we still have some?" He asked
"Yeah but the milk chocolate ran out." I answered
"Alright." He said
"Great!" I exclaimed and started tugging him to go
He got up and we headed out.
Your POV:
So we went to the market and got some more groceries and milk chocolate. Nothing eventful happened. However I did catch a glimpse of Sans. Whether it was just coincidence or he was following us is still a mystery I'm trying to decipher.
I mean shortly after we got the house Sans came by to see it. While there he also told me and Chara that we aren't completely off the hook but are granted pardons and apologizes for his false accusation of me and Chara attempting a genocide. Also when he threatened us in Snowdin. As we put the stuff away and went into the living room Frisk was there and super jumpy. I asked about the excitement.
"Well during one of my ambassador meeting, Scientists were there and asked if the monsters had any worthy technology. I called Alphys over and they talked. So after that they said they would debate on a second Core. Or a major Core expansion!" Frisk explained
"Sound like the first big change with monsters and humans." You stated
"Yup!" Frisk said
So after that we all lazed around. Eventually it was time for sleep. However you heard sounds of faint crying. Opening your door it seemed to be coming from Chara's room. You entered silently. Chara seemed to be softly crying in her bed.
"Hey, what's wrong?" You ask
Chara was startled and sat up
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be asleep?" Chara asked
"Well I heard crying and it was coming from here... What's wrong?" You said
Chara turned away
"Nothing." She said
"Are you sure...? I mean if you want you can tell me. I'll stay quiet about it." You said, sitting on her bed
"... Am I evil?" Chara asked
"No." You said
"Well... It seems like most people think I am. Sans especially. You see throughout all the resets there was a genocide route and Sans seemed to put the blame on me. However I only watched Frisk do it and punished them in the end. I had no involvement of the run till the very end but..." Chara said
"But...?" You asked softly
"But no-one believed me..." Chara finished
You gave her a comforting hug
"I believe you.." You said still hugging
"Heh... Did you understand anything I said?" Chara asked
"Kinda." You replied
"Hmmm, good enough." Chara said
You two stayed hugging for awhile
"So... Should I go?" You ask
"Can you stay longer?" Chara asked
"Sure." You said
However you stayed a lot longer. For Chara was so warm and comfortable you fell asleep and ended up staying the night in her room.
