Majesty on a dirt road
We were walking down the old road strewn with rocks
Where we could still breathe the open air.
We could talk and our voices would echo all around,
Filled with reason, with no hint of doubt.
We laughed and the rocks laughed with us.
We understood this road, we knew its curve,
We recognized the ground beneath our feet,
We were content.
I held your hand as you picked
A tiny purple flower and stuck it
In my hair.
The sun shone behind you,
You were caught in the gold of God,
I knew I would walk that road every day.
