King Tommy may be dead, but thankfully Sir Pounce was not. Tommo did not take that good cat with him when he ran out his big stone window. Sir Pounds was now in the keeping of a good man at the Red Hotel called Bill, and we haven't seen him before. He is not cruel like his employer Queen Samantha, and he fed this royal cat well and kept it safe. It was possible the cat missed its King, but basically it was able to sleep in peace so it was okay.

Bill mainly swept up and kept the Red Close tidy and was maybe some kind of servant, just a normal guy on the whole. Occasionally he would be on duty tidying up after a great feast like the lords and ladies would often have, and he would pocket some scrap of chicken or fish for Mr Pound to enjoy later on. It was risky, but he was willing to do it to make sure his cat friend was safe. The other kings didn't give a shit about the cat and had forgotten. If they remembered they would probably skin it or something as they are all cruel and weird, unlike good Bill.

One day Bill was taking a plate of milk to the secret place where he kept Piounce and he saw someone coming, which was bad news because he was poor and didn't normally have milk, just water or gruel, so he knew they would ask questions. And typical, it was Master Old-one and the Iron Giant! They stormed up to him with angry faces and the Master shouted 'what is the meaning of this? Where are you taking that milk?' and Bill wasn't sure what to say as he was poor and basically fucked no matter what.

Just at that, Sir Pounds emerged into the corridor and meowed. Master Doctor and Bill looked down at him in astonishment, and even the Iron Zombie looked a bit surprised. Well, the Master was very angry, probably because he'd forgotten this was a royal cat, or maybe he just didn't care since things in Kings Larder were so messed up and he had bigger fish to fry to be fair.

The old bastard was all set to take the cat away to cut up or something, and probably throw Bill in a dungeon even though he'd done nothing wrong, when something very surprising happened. The Iron Sombie stepped up and put his massive arm out in front of Old Doctor, silencing and aweing him, and looked at the cat with unreadable feeling in his dead eyes. Mr Pounc understood immediately, and meowed and jumped onto the Giant's arm, purring and walking up and sitting on his horrific shoulder.

Maestro knew he was out of luck and something special had happened, so he cautioned Bill and went on his way. But Bill could not care, for he knew that he was looking at a powerful new alliance between Cat and Monster, and he didn't even mind that Pounds had moved on. He was pleased to have helped in some way, and later on he even drank the milk himself as a wee treat.
