Chapter 5- Hort meets his doom

Hello, dearest reader!!!!! So I've been having writer's block and have had no idea what put in next for the past month. How can even happen to me, I mean, I'm the narrator. Not a narrator but the narrator. I somehow managed to scrape together this chapter (miracle). Um...I hope you like it. Now, for the story...

(Hort's POV)

The statue stares down at me, hideously unimpressed. I squint up at it, trying to imagine Sophie's face of delight when I propose to her. This happened a couple of minutes ago, when I found a statue next to me and started doing a practice proposal to it. "Oh darling Sophie, would you accept this truthful offer of marriage?" I start talking to statue. Nope, nothing. Then I heard a low laugh behind me, slow and cruel. "Don't you see, Hort. Sophie would never say yes to a weasel like you." Hort spun on his knee to find Aric staring down at him. "What?!" Hort sputtered. Aric smiled viciously before grabbing him by the arm and dragging him towards the west tower.

(Agatha's POV)

This what happens when I leave Hort alone for couple of minutes, no, seconds. I walked out of the room with Tedros stumbling behind me. Next thing I know, that creep Aric is dragging a whimpering Hort out to the...west tower, I think. I silently fumed to myself, I mean, of course Aric couldn't leave us alone in Camelot for the coronation. "We should follow them," I turned and found Tedros already drawing out Excalibur, ready to slay Aric into two pieces, probably four though. "Follow me, princess," He whispered, then began tailing Aric down the winding corridors. I rolled my eyes and followed him. Eventually, we got to the west tower, strangely dark considering the time. Then Aric started talking.

Meanwhile...

(Sophie's POV)

I tried for my gravest expression while I directed the coven. "My dearest friends," I started. Hester snorted. I ignored her and went on. "We are stuck in a depressing situation here. That idiot Aric has trapped us in this thing, I haven't had my low-calorie lunch yet and my dress is covered in dust." I wiped away a tear on the last point. My beautiful dress. "So here's the plan. All of you..." I pointed to them each in turn, "While sit straight and look pretty while I try and flirt him into letting us go." I finished, fully satisfied with my plan. "Um...No," Hester replied. "I vote no as well," Anadil said. They glanced at Dot. She shook her head while stuffing chocolate in her mouth. Sophie opened her mouth to fight but then they heard Aric behind them.

(Aric's POV)

Hort wouldn't stop cursing and moaning the whole time. For goodness sake, can't he just shut up for a second while I think of good ways to make an impression on the ladies? Not that I want them to like me *gag* but because I want them to be intimidated. I would kill to see that frightened expression on Sophie's face again. I had a strange feeling that I was being followed. I constantly turned around but no one was there. Jeez, turns out touching Hort is bad for my common sense. The final golden door that led to witches prison rose before me. Here goes nothing. I kicked open the door...and instantly regretted it. The doors came swinging right back at me, knocking me in the face, nearly squashing my nose into a pile of crap. Hort snorted behind me and I gritted my teeth, giving the weasel a good kick in the rump for laughing. This time, I opened the doors with a spooky chill, attempting to lie down my previous failure. Sophie was grinning stupidly at me while the rest tried to hide smirks. Great. Just Great. Life is wonderful, isn't it? Their grins faded when they saw Hort tight in my grasp. He grinned sheepishly. "Hi, Sophie. That pastel pink dress looks gorgeous on you," Hort mumbled, dazed. Sophie looked furious. "First of all, you idiot, this is a copper pink dress and secondly, what the hell are you doing here?!" Hort blinked and then accusingly stuck out his finger at Aric. "It was him," he hissed, his voice tinted with venom. Then came the screams, the insults while I stood there grinning. This is fun... There! I felt it again. That feeling. Someone was watching me. I glanced at the shiny gold amour just beyond the cage. In the shiny metal, brown eyes blinked back at me.

It's me again, the narrator! No spoilers this time, just wait for the next chapter!
