Everyone in the station sat in silence; heads hung low.
It was Roy who broke the silence, "Re-retire?"
"That's what he wants." Johnny answered.
"Well, " Captain Stanley said. "if he wants to retire, we'll throw him the biggest, best retirement party L.A County's ever seen."
"Good idea, Cap." Chet said.
Everyone said something similar.
"Hey, I'll call Kelly and Dix over at Rampart." Roy said.
While everyone else was deciding what Stations to invite and who to invite from each station, Roy called Rampart.
He dialed Rampart and waited. Dixie answered, "Hello."
"Hey, Dix. Cap had an idea, " Roy explained it all to Dixie and eventually Dr. Brackett.
"Okay. So the 20th." Roy made sure.
"Yes. Gotta-"
"Hold on, how's that shot patient doing."
"Fine, fine. He'll be discharged in a couple of day. Sorry Roy but I gotta go."
"Alright. See ya later."
"Bye." And Dr. Brackett hung up.
"Hey guys. We can throw the party on the 20th!" Roy exclaimed.
