*Luke POV*
Rang rang rang!!! I can hear my fucking alarm is ringing. Where the fuck is it, I grope around my bed and finally I found it. I smashed to the floor and pulling my blanket over my head. I know mom will walked in soon but I don’t care, my head is still spinning.
“Luke you need to woke up,” mom muffled outside my room. She knocked my door unpatiently. “Come on, I know you feel better.”
"I’m up mom,” I shout behind the blanket.
“Get ready, I’m gonna drive you to school. Breakfast is in the kitchen,” she said while walking away. I finally got up and sit down straightly. I make my way to the bathroom and have a shower. After getting dressed I walk out to the kitchen. Mom have tried making pancakes again, I look at the half burnt pancake unsure I could eat it.
“Oh come on, it’s not poisonous. Hopefully,” my mom laughed softly. I can helped but smiled, she’s trying, I know she is. “Here just eat coco puffs, I don’t want you to die because of pancakes,” she said while pulling out a box of cereal from the cabinet and put it on the table. “Milk?” she asked while walking to the fridge. I nod and she pull out the milk. I took the coco puffs and pour it on the bowl and pour milk on top of it. When I about to drink the milk straight from the box, mom said, “Christ, Lucas use a glass.” She handed me one and I pour it in and drank it. Mom trying to be a better mom. And quite frankly I like it. I wouldn’t traid this moment for anything. She’s not working as hard as she used to. She’s now working only as a tutor not as a full time teacher anymore. After dad’s passing, mom have to worked hard for our life. But she changed recently when I got into an accident, she tried to be a better mom. If you asked me about my mom a year ago, I would probably said, “I hate her.”
We got into her car and she drove me to school. I used to take the bus but seems like mom worried about me after I got the fever yesterday. “Have a great day Luke,” she said when I walked out the car. I wave my hand and smiled, this is nice. I walk in and saw michael on the way in.
“Hey man, where were you? I didn’t saw you at all yesterday,” he asked while we walked inside.
“I got a fever. My body refuse that the holiday is over,” I answered.
“Well, we got rehearsal today at 7 my place. Don’t forgot,” he looked at me while walking away backwards. I hold up my thumb and walk to my locker. I took out my french book and walk to the class. I seriously don’t know why I picked French course, I am crap at it. My pace was stop because I can see someone very familiar. Long dark brown hair, tanned skin, and brown eyes. She’s the girl from the bus stop. Then I feel someone covered my eyes.
“Luke Robert Hemmings, why haven’t you texted me back or returned any of my calls?” the girl covering my eyes said. I rolled my eyes behind her hands. Julie, my dear childish girlfriend. I tried to pull her hands out of my eyes as gentle as I can. She didn’t fight back, I turned to her. “I was worried,” she frowned.
“I’m sorry. I had a fever and my head hurt so bad,” I said.
“You feel better now?” she asked with a sad look while stroking my face.
“Yeah I’m fine today,” I smiled trying to convince her. The bell rang and everyone around us walked to their own class.
“Okay then, I’ll see you at lunch,” she gave me a quick peck on the cheek then walked away. I walked the opposite way to the class. I can see the bus girl is sitting on my seat, this is gonna be interesting. I kicked the chair from behing and I can see her surprised expresion. She turned her head at me. She looked surprise to see me but annoyed as hell.
