Ashton found his dorm room much easier than he expected to. It was empty, however, when he walked in. He let out a small sigh, anxious to meet his new roommate.

He closed the door behind him, and moved over to the newly made bed with a small note card that read "Ashton". He figured that bed must be his. Directly across his bed, was a closet, that held the clothes for his school uniform. He changed out of the clothes he'd been wearing, and chose khaki pants, a white dress shirt, a navy tie, and a gray sweater on top. He also slipped on the shoes provided. It all fit perfectly, and was much more comfortable than the uniform at his old high school. He was definitely relieved about that.

He looked around the room, eager to explore it more. It all looked so fascinating. The walls were made of an aged stone, yet still looked so beautiful. And the floors, were an old dark wood. His mother had filled the old brown chest at the end of his bed with quilts, as she had promised. They were magnificent. They all looked hand-sewn. She also had kept her word about his writing desk. He had his own, and she had made sure he had all of his school supplies, textbooks, and other books for pleasure reading.

"It's nice, right?" An unfamiliar voice behind him was startling.

He jumped, and turned around quickly. It was a tall, slim boy with blonde hair, and a black lip ring. His school uniform was similar to Ashton's, but he has chosen all black, except for his white dress shirt.

"Sorry," The boy chuckled, "I didn't mean to frighten you." He took a seat on the bed opposite of Ashton's.

"I didn't hear you come in." Ashton laughed back, embarrassed.

The boy shrugged, "It's a shadow hunter thing. Stealthy and silent." He put his hand out, and Ashton took it, eagerly.
"I'm Luke."

Ashton nodded, "My roommate. I'm Ashton."

"I know." Luke grinned. "You're all Adela has been talking about lately."

Ashton smiled, happy to hear that. "Really? Wow."

"It's nice though, right?" Luke asked again, looking around the room. "Our dorm?"

"Oh," Ashton remembered, "Yeah. Yeah, it is."

"Have you checked your schedule?" Luke asked.

"My schedule?"

"Yeah," Luke nodded, getting up now. "It should be right here, if I recall from my first day."

Luke slid past him to Ashton's desk, and opened the first drawer. There was a small leather notebook. Luke pulled it out and opened to the first page. A slip of paper was stuck there, and Luke handed it to Ashton.

"This notebook is for important notes, dates to remember, memos like that. You take it to all your classes." Luke explained. "And this, is your class schedule. You can keep it in the notebook."

Ashton took both the notebook and the schedule, and looked it over.

Luke continued, "Classes are assigned here, based on your identification. For example, I take classes that will help me with my hunting. You'll have classes that help you with your wizardry."

Ashton studied the slip of paper. His classes were herbology, history of magic, Junipette wildlife, potion mixing, spell casting, and wand crafting.

"These are so cool." Ashton grinned.

"You'll also need flying lessons." Luke pointed, "Coach Hornsburg gives those after class."

"Wow." Ashton nodded again, "How do you know so much about warlocks?"
