Why do i care again?

"Alright guys good practice! Remember tomorrow is the Pep Rally, come to school in your Uniform!" Coach Vince calls us out "Alright Wolves on three. 1,2,3 WOLVES!"

We all make our way back to the locker room exhausted from all the running. How many miles does he have to make us run?? We legit ran at least 7 miles and 20 suicides.

Practice was so long today that it feels like it's 10 pm. It's actually only 7:30 but when I get home I'm going straight to bed.

I feel someone's elbow nudge me in the side, I look up to see Isaac, our teams catcher and my best friend.

"Your damn pitches hurt my hands." He laughs while shaking his hand around, making me smile.
Alot of girls fall for Isaac because he's funny and sweet and not like all of the other popular guys.

Isaac doesn't care though, he's focused on his career. That's why he's my best friend.

"They're supposed to." I shrug while taking my shirt off, reavealing my black Nikes sports bra. Before you say "What she changes in front of boys??" Im wearing a sports bra and spandex under my clothes. So basically what girls wear at the gym.

"No shit Sherlock." He says in a duh tone while taking off his baseball cap to rub his messy dark brown hair.
Once I'm fully dressed into my regular clothes, I throw my dufflebag over my shoulder.
Alexander walks up to us with a confused look on his face.

"What's up with the Pep Rally tomorrow?" He asks. I shrug while texting back my dad from my phone.

"Dude I fucking heard that some kids from Korea are coming." Another boy named Ethan, Aka the schools biggest fuck boy, joins the conversation while putting his shirt on.

"Where did you hear that from?" I ask keeping my eyes on Ethan.

"The coach. He was talking about it with the principal." He answers with honesty. Isaac and I exchange weird looks, wondering why anyone would want to come to our school.

"What if they play baseball. The little ching chongs would be so bad." Ethan snorts, causing Alexander to let out a roar of laughter.

I roll my eyes while chuckling.
I mean you never know, they could be good. "Maybe." I dryly reply.

"Ooohhh Autumn wants to fuck an Asian!!!" Exclaims Alexander like it's the funniest thing in the world.

"Shut up Alex." I scoff while folding my uniform nicely.
Isaac takes it from me and puts it into my dufflebag that's over my shoulder.

"Anyways, is tonight still Baseball bonding night?" Isaac asks while zipping up my bag. Alexander & Ethan both look up at me for the answer.
Being the team captain of a boys baseball is alot of work. You have to plan everything and lead the whole group into victories.
I guess I can't complain, baseball is my life and I couldn't be happier right now.

"Nah I'm cancelling it. Not in the mood." I answer with boredom in my tone.

"Ughhh." Complains Ethan. Our team gets together like once a month for bonding reasons. We usually all sleep over at one of our houses, usually this kid on my team named Ryan. He's super rich so his house is the most fun to sleep in.

"I'm still coming over though." Isaac points out as If I didn't know.

"I'm going to sleep as soon as I get home." I inform him as I pop a peice of gum into my mouth. He sighs and says "never mind then".
I call the whole team to gather around me so I can inform them on some stuff.

"Guys next week is the game that determines if we go to state or not. I plan on going. We're going to have practice at Anchor baseball park tomorrow, be there." I state.

Our team hasn't been to state in 4 years, yes four years. That's honestly sad and I want to change the way other schools see our team. We need to be the winners, we will be the winners.
Everyone nods their heads agreeing with me so I head out of the gym and into my car.
Before I start to drive I get a text from someone.

--Alexander the Great 💯: The boys want to know if we're wearing our hats tomorrow or not.

--Me: No.

--Alexander the Great 💯: Alright and text me if you need anything.

-Me: Will do, goodnight ✌

"Sup dad." I sigh while throwing the Jeep keys onto the counter. My dad is reading the weekly newspaper at the diner table. I open the fridge to search for some snacks but I come out with nothing.

"How was practice?" He asks, not looking up from the paper. I open the cabinet doors hoping to find some food but yet again, nada.

"It was alright," I shrug while opening the fridge once more to check again "Nothing new"

He sets the paper down to throw me some Cheetos and a Gatorade. I smile gratefully at him while walking out of the kitchen.
I open up the Cheetos and shove them into my mouth while talking to my dad. "Have you heard bout the Asians coming to our school." I ask, mouth still full of food.

"Oh yeah!! That sounds interesting!!" He exclaims.

"I guess." I answer back with no personality.

I go to the restroom to take a quick shower so I can watch orange is the New Black before I go to bed.
When I enter my room my little sister is seen on the top bunk (her bunk) of our bunk bed on her phone.

Yes, we share a room and have a bunk bed. We aren't the richest people in town.

"Kenzie I'm home." I tell her.

"Why do I care again?" She snorts while probably texting her boyfriend . She's 13 in the 7th grade and she has a boyfriend before me, I know sad. She's rude but she's in her mid teen years of rebellion, I can understand.

The Cheetos and Gatorade are gone before I know it, leaving me full and empty handed.

"Alright I'm gonna go to bed." I yawn after brushing my teeth.

Right before I fall into the peaceful sleep, someone had to wake me up.

Isaac:

Me: Why did you send this to me 😂?

Isaac: its the new students duh 😂😑

Me: Fr? How'd you get it?

Isaac: Alessia sent it to me, she's the one who's gonna tour them through our school tomorrow.

Me: Oh . Anyways I'm trying to sleep.

Isaac: Yeah sorry . Goodnight dumbass ✌✌
