The One Who Wished Upon a Star

Hey, I'm Alexandra. I'm going to tell you the time I wished upon a star & when my dream came true.

Well, it all started on my normal day of my shitty ass middle school Roadway Clinton. Like always the same people teasing me about my pimples, my glasses, and especially my weight. But I don't care because I have my girls to not forget me who I really am. Like Chrystal with her chocolate skin and her black long braids—the little sweetheart self. Angie with her almond skin and black short hair—the most independent self. And last but no least Amanda the pink skin and brown hair with blonde highlights.

"Hey ugly ass bitch. Where do you think you're going?"

"None of your bussiness and don't call me that.”

"Ooo, I'm soo scared. What you gonna do about it?”

"Nothing, bye.” So, I left and ignored that stupid idiot of Christopher.

I went to all my classes, went to lunch and looked at my secret crush angel—who by the way looked kinda like an angel—and then I went home with my two bffs.

When I got home, I took off all my clothes and put on comftorable ones and went to watch tv. When I was skiming the channels, I confirmed on watching the news and it said,

“Tonight get ready with your phones and cameras because tonight you will see the amazing once-in-a-year shooting star!”

"Omg. No way, cool!"

Next thing you know, my friends called about the shooting star from the news. We were all excited.

Tonight, I waited under my window—so I can see the sky illuminate better.

After a while, I see something—bright and pitch black with a majestic light blue stripe—strike across the moon.

I closed my eyes instantly and said, "I wished that I could fit in school and have my crush notices me or maybe even acknowledge me.”

I opened my eyes and looked at the moon, kept looking and looking and nothing occurred.

I walked to the mirror near my drawer and said to myself, “What am I kidding? That would never happen in a million year.”

Then I went to bed and fell asleep.
