No Love

Chris looked over to Jessica and kissed her soft hand.

"You're amazing too. I just thought I'd show you this since you've never seen the view."

"Thank you, really. I don't know why, but I'm starting to feel a connection between us."

Chris smiled widely, then they ordered the best meals on the menu. When the food came, Jessica said:

"This is the best chicken Alfredo EVER!"

"I'm glad you like it, Jess."

"So, why don't you live with your parents?"

"I want to build my own future. Yeah, they help me, but I don't to depend on them."

"What if they retire? What happens next?"

"I haven't thought about that. But most probably I'd take over, if I didn't get married."

"You don't plan on getting married?" Chris asked while running his fingers through his hair.

"Does it matter? I've never been in a committed relationship, and I haven't found the right one to begin with."

"I know, being single rocks. You get to do anything you want, whenever you want. But maybe that'll change."

"What do you mean? You said no love because you don't want anyone getting hurt."

"Yes. What if no one has to get hurt?" Chris said while taking Jessica's hand.

"Chris, what do you mean? You're very confusing now, and I don't know why you're acting like that."

"What if we stay in contact and always see each other?"

"Friends with benefits? No thank you."

"Why are you so stubborn?"

"Because I don't want to give you my body without you loving me."

"Fine. You're right."

They were silent. None of them talked for a while until...

"I'm sorry, Jessica."

"It's fine, don't be."

"Do you want me to take you home?"

"Yes, please."

Chris began to imagine her say things to him, asking her if she wants him to do her, to torture her.

"You want that, baby?"

" Yes, please..."

"Do you want me to please you?"

"Yes, I want it all."

Chris suddenly snapped out of his fantasy as he felt sweat on his forehead.

"Uh...are you okay, Chris?"

"What? Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm good."

"Fuck." Chris said to himself.

He ordered the check, then paid.

"Ready?"
