Why Me?

After what Chris did to Jessica. He stopped and and asked:

"Did you enjoy the little introduction?"

"Yeah it was, something." Jessica said while rubbing her wrists.

"It wasn't unfavorable and I plan on keeping it that way."

"I told you, I'll do as you please."

"Hmm..you do that with every girl you meet?" Jessica raised an eyebrow.

"Technically, yes. But I never fell in love or stayed in contact with them. I don't do "relationships" so I don't have to worry about getting hurt or hurting."

"So, even though we don't know each other well, what is this between us? You're gonna throw me out like every other girl?"

"What-no Jessica. I told you, you're different! I don't wanna hurt you."

"Is that what you always tell them? Thank you but no thank you. I won't sleep with a person I just met and definitely not with someone like you." Jessica stomped off quickly.

As Chris ran after Jessica, he couldn't help but wonder why he was suddenly interested in her. He realized that he cannot let her go like that.

"Don't go.."

"What?" Jessica said shockingly.

"I don't want you to leave." Chris replied firmly.

"What are you gonna do? Run after me till I get home? Stop me?"

Chris took a moment to think and said:

"I don't know what's so special about you. But I want you, Jessica. I want you to live with me. I want you to wake up with me and-"

"WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT?!" Jessica yelled in wrath.

"What-"

"You don't even know me, Chris! How can you say that! What if I DON'T want a relationship? What if I'm-I don't know!"

"Look, I've never felt that way, okay? I don't know what to say or do because I feel different, different when I'm with you, Jess!"

"Why me?"

"The moment I saw you. The moment I saw you I felt captured by your beauty. By your smile. I'm sorry, I know I sound very stupid-"

"No, you don't." Jessica said while walking closer to Chris.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you, its just that, it doesn't make sense.."

"Not everything has to."

"How about we go to the beach tomorrow?"

"Umm, sure."

"You don't sound so happy about it."

"I promised Michelle we'd go shopping.."

"Oh."

"BUT- I can tell her we have plans. I'm sure she'll be okay with it, she's really an outgoing person. "

"Are you sure, though? I mean we can go out any other day."

"Don't worry about it, Chris. Just plan a perfect date." Jessica said while laughing.

"Who said I didn't plan one in my head already?"

" Oh.."

Chris leaned in and planted a kiss on her cheek and said:

"I promise I'll make you mine one day. But don't you think I won't punish you when you're being a bad girl." Chris then squeezed her ass.

Jessica grinned at him, knowing his bad side, she felt hot for him.

"Let me drive you home."

They walked up to his black matte Mercedes-AMG GT.

"Damn. Where have you been all my life?"

As Chris laughed, he stared at how stunning Jessica is. He described her as the "perfect" being: dazzling emerald eyes, smooth upturned nose, full round lips, chestnut brown hair, and fair light skin.

"Whoa.." Chris whispered to himself.

"What did you say?"

"N-nothing, Jess. Let's get you home." He snapped out of his thoughts and started to drive.

"How old were you when your parents died? "

"I was 13. I still remember how it happened. There were 3 of them, the killers. I had hope they were gonna survive..I knocked out 2 of them, only to find one hiding behind the fucking door. It should've been me.."

Jessica noticed Chris's hands gripping the steering wheel so tight as a sign of fury.

"Hey.." Jessica said worriedly as she touched his shoulder then the back of his neck.

"I loved them so much, Jess. They gave me their all. They had perfect jobs and we were a perfect family. But perfection doesn't last for a lifetime. That's why reality hits us."

Jessica observed Chris's actions. She watched how silent he became after that sentence and how his eyes started to redden.

"Can I hold your hand?"

Unhesitatingly, Chris moved his hand onto her thigh and rested it.

"You didn't have to ask."

Jessica smiled and held his hand tightly.

When they arrived to Jessica's house, she thanked him for the ride and for the first "experience".

"Tonight was..surprising."

"So, you had a good time?"

"I really did."

Just as Jessica was about to leave, she turned back and kissed Chris.

"Thank you for today, Chris."

"You're very welcome."
