Romantically Hopeless

Chpt. 2 ~ Deer In Head Lights

Amber P.O.V ~ 

   I had Geometry with Adaline and English with Luna. However, I did have World History alone. I walk into my World History class alone, of course. Take my seat towards the back of the class, like I normally do. Then, guess what? My luck, right. The one and only Samantha Fox walks into the room and she, of course, has her minions following behind. Jessica Hamilton, nice and quiet one of the group. Steps on the back of her shoe on accident. 

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! YOU COULD HAVE BROKEN MY 180 DOLLAR SHOES!!!" Samantha screams with an ear piercing screech. Ow. My poor ears. I just roll my eyes.

"What are you looking at Jacobs?" She says rudely. 

"Not much." I say casually 

 She huffs out a puff of air, flustered. I was so caught up with her I didn't even realize Jake Harris was standing with a stupid grin on his face. Jake Harris, the bad boy of BirkWood High. Suprised he actually showed up today. That's a first. 

"Stop looking at me." I roll my eyes. 

"Look at me instead, I'm prettier." Samantha chimes in

"No, thanks." He said with disgust

  I try my hardest to hold in my laugh. Samantha's face turns red with anger and embarrassment, she looks at me with an evil glare. The minions run up to annoyed Samantha and tried to comfort her. I'm glad I'm not one of them anymore. 

Jake sits down at the desk ahead of me. Turns around with that same grin on his face and whispers... 

"This is gonna be an exciting year." Which sent shivers down my spine. 

Come on lunch, Come on lunch, Come on lunch!! I repeat over and over again to myself. 

*10 Minutes Pass* 

*Lunch Bells Rings* 

"THANK YOU, LORD!!" I breathe out, louder than expected and dashed out of the room. 

  I race down the hallway, through the endless amount of teenage bodies, that clutter the hallways. I continue on and shove past the heavy lunchroom doors. My eyes wander the cafeteria aimlessly. I need to find my best friends. 

  I walk around almost following over my own two feet. Then I see a sparkle, a familiar sparkle, ADALINE!!!!! I run over to her, as well as Luna, dodging more bodies. I hear people curse profanities at me, I shrug it off because I have to deliver the news! 

I make it over. Alive. Thankfully. 

"You'll never believe what happened." I say with short pants in between each word. 

"Breathe and spill." Luna says with a slight chuckle. 

  My friends and I spend the rest of lunch discussing what had happened not even an hour ago. 

"I still can't believe you told both of them off. " Adaline says impressed 

"Meet us at the car after school. I'll drive you home." Luna cuts in

"okay, thank you." I say as I bid them goodbye 

We split off and go our own ways. Only I have to mentally prepare myself to get myself through the rest of my fourth period. Lightbulb! I can just skip, who am I kidding I haven't skipped a day in my life. I'm sure as hell not starting today! With a sigh and a puff, I drag myself back to my fourth period. 

The rest of the day went by in a blur. So fast the afternoon announcements are being held as we speak. I'm just so ready to get out of here. The doors are so close I can almost feel them. I'll get in the car jam out with my friends and not come back. 

I chuckle at my own thoughts. 

I sadly have to come back. 

*Beep Beep* signal indicating the announcements are over. 

*Dismissal Bell Rings* 

I pack my things that I had left on my desk into my book bag. I smile and say goodbye to Mr.Simmons and head to Luna's car so, they can drive me home. I hum a tune enjoying the thought of getting out of here. 

I feel a firm hand latch on to my wrist. I was yanked into a dark vacant classroom. 

"Come on guys, stop" I whine "I wanna go home" I whine again. 

No response. 

I stopped to notice a big bulky black figure. Shit!! This is where I am going to die. 

"Please don't kill me!!" I pleaded for my life.

I hear a chuckle. I see the figure walk into the light. I grow angry.

"You fucking asshole. What the hell Jake?!" I yell throwing a punch at him but, he catches my fist.

"Back to school party. Tonight. 9. Be there." He says with a smirk and dismissed himself. 

I sit there like a deer in head lights. WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! 

I finally get to the car. Still stunned. 

"Earth to AMBERRR!" Luna shouts

"You look like a deer in head lights." Adaline states

"Jake invited me to a party." I manage to get out.

Well, here ya go!! I loved writing this chapter. It all flowed out of my fingers onto the keyboard haha. Well, hope ya liked it :)
