Irreparable

I was doing okay,

almost done healing my once shattered heart,

but without a warning you came back.

I was admittedly ecstatic.

My heart welcomed the thoughts

of being with you again,

and I let you claw your way in.

But not every dream

is meant to be realized.

Some dreams will just stay as..

dreams.

We dragged our issues for too long.

We changed too much,

so that what used to be perfectly matched

grew too incompatible.

We became irreparable,

our mistakes irreversible.

And when you realized all these,

you simply left,

uncaring of the mess you just made.

And once again,

I'm back at the starting line

of the maze I was once so close at finishing.
