Dark Matters

Chapter 4

I woke up in a surgeons room. I opened my eyes to see a bright light shining directly above me.  Everything was fuzzy,  the room was spinning. Every noise sounded high pitched. As I started to regain my vision,  I saw Tristan approaching me. He grabbed my slim,  tender fingers.  He kissed my forhead and spoke in a sweet calm voice.

"hey beautiful, are you okay?"

I nodded and held his hand firmly.  I squeezed his hand tighter,  as my head ached.  I thought I must have lost brain cells,  as I had hit my head one to many times.

"What happen. Tell me everything"

Tristan announced. His  voice had changed. He sounded serious.

"Well.. I.. I.. "

I blacked out. I was to tired to do anything. I needed some rest.  I woke up the next morning at my house.  I was confused with how many times I had moved around.  I felt better,  but everything still ached. 

"Monica,  your awake"

I heard Tristans voice appear from the doorway.

"Are you ready to talk"

I didn't know where to start. It was early in the morning so talking wasn't the answer. 

I walked out onto the balcony a little while later ,  with a coffee in my hand. I sat down next to Tristan,  as we looked down to the lake. I sipped my coffee and swallowed.  The fluid warmed my throat and dripped down to my belly. I looked at Tristan, who seemed to be focusing on the lake.

"Ready to talk now"

Tristan said softly. I looked at him angrily.  Couldn't he have forgotten about it..

"what do you want to know?"

"everything,  tell me exactly what had  happen"

"why so serious "

I asked smirking.  He looked over at me, I knew now was not the time to be playing jokes.

"Okay,  I walked down to Aragon lake.  I sat down under a tree,  and read my book.  A girl on skates crashed into me.  We started talking,  but later she saw two men walking up to us.  We started walking away,  the men were calling out some stuff.  We started running and they were following, We ran down a dead end.  We were trapped. One of the men came up to me and started touching me.  I spat on his face,  hoping he would back away.  He slapped me and pushed me too the ground. That's  all I remember"

Tristans face turned pale. His eyes widened. He place his hand on my knee and replied in a sly voice.

"If someone ever does that to you again.  I will find them..  And I will kill them "

Tristan stood up and walked away slowly. A cold shiver ran down my spine as I felt a cold hand placed on my sholder.

"Tristan? "

I said slowly.  There was no answer.  I felt claws dig into my skin. I turned quickly and saw the girl. I jumped off my chair,  and backed away slowly. I reached for my pocket knife,  keeping my eyes alined with hers. I remembered I kept it under my pillow. I stood up straight and walked towards the door. She ran at me,  and jumped.  She jumped straight threw me.  I felt as though see had jumped inside me. Like she was apart of my soul.

"Did you call for me baby? "

Tristan yelled from inside

"No"

I replied. suddenly I felt strange.  Like I wasn't in control of my body. I started walking down to the lake. I wanted to turn back but I couldn't.  I found myself at the edge of the lake. My body was pulling me forward,  but in my mind,  I was leaning backwards.  I was about to jump into the lake when suddenly I heard a familiar noise.

"MONICA.  hey what are you doing here "

I felt in control  with my body.  I looked up at the girl to see Annie standing there.

"Annie,  are you okay from last night?  It was really scary "

I replied.  She turned pale and she looked down.

"Well the real question is,  are you okay.  They didn't even touch me.  It was Like I was.. "

"Invisible "

I added stopping her. Before I could add anything Annie had wrapped her arms around me.  She was crying. I hugged her tight and wiped away tears from my eyes. Annie seemed to calm down.  And when she had,  I invited her to my house.
