I had all and then most of you, some and now none of you
Take me back to the night we met
I don't know what I'm supposed to do, haunted by the ghost of you
Oh, take me back to the night we met

The Night We Met- Lord Huron

Three Years Ago

I have been unpacking my things into his new dorm room all day since I arrived. This was my first day at the university and this morning I had arrived bright and early to unpack after saying goodbye to my parents.

Two of the other students on this floor had already arrived and the last was yet to arrive. It was seven O'clock in the evening and as it was autumn the sun had already set and there was a rain storm. I could hear the pitter patter of the rain on the roof and the windows and see the flashes of white light from the lightning along with the crackle and clapping of the thunder. I have never been a big fan of storms but it would just have to be something I need to get used to.

After a few more minutes I saw the red flashes of a car reversing in front of the dorm building. It must be the other student. Not too long later, I witnessed a young woman emerge from the car and run to the boot of her car to grab her bags.

Seeing her in distress, I decided to go and help her, it would be a good way to make some friends maybe. I grabbed my coat and ran out my room door and then out the dormitory door to go help her out.

"Do you need some help, miss?" I asked as I approached her. She turned to me and I had to take a second to take her in. She was simply beautiful. Her long brown hair, auburn almost, and deep brown eyes that took my breath away. She is the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen in my whole life. Just breathtaking.

And if it wasn't for the rain crashing down in torrents onto us then I would have spent a lot longer taking in the glorious sight of her. It was like the heavens had opened up above us and an angel had fallen from the sky and sent her to this very dormitory, to me. And she was that angel.

"Yes please," she shouted over the rain with a quick smile that made my heart miss a beat. There is something special about her, I know it. I don't even know her name yet but I just know that she is unique and special. That smile, those eyes. Her beauty and unfathomable and I still haven't quite processed it yet.

Nevertheless, I helped her carry all her bags into the building and up to her room as fast as possible. She had a lot of bags so we found ourselves running as fast as we could in and out of the building. However, it wasn't long until we finally made it and were standing in her room. I offered to make some hot chocolate to warm us up and also collected some warm blankets to warm us up. I even changed into my PJs while I was waiting for our warm beverages to finish being made.

I returned to her room with the drinks and blankets and found that she had changed into her own PJ's too. It seemed that she had the same idea as I did. I handed her her mug which she thanked me for then sat beside her on the edge of her bed and placed one blanket over her shoulders and the other over mine.

"So... what room are you in?" she asked after taking a sip. "This is great by the way, thank you," she added, gesturing to the warm mug in her hand.

"The one next to yours, we are actually neighbours. So if you ever need a cup of sugar or something, my door is always open," I joked, making her giggle.

"I will be sure to pay you a visit if I'm ever in a dire baking emergency," she laughed making me laugh too. Her laugh was really nice too, something about it just popped. There was just something there, I couldn't see it but I could certainly feel it. "What;s your name? Mine is Caitlin Snow," she asked after we finished laughing.
