Luke's house up top
Luke quickly walked to his pick up truck, turning it on and driving far away from the party as he could. He didn't want to see that familiar face that he had loved back in high school, he knew he would run into Cindy. But he didn't think it was this soon. Luke fiddled with the radio until he got home.
Luke sat in his truck for awhile thinking about what had happened, his feelings for Cindy where stronger than ever before. He sighed and got out of his truck walking up to his old house. It needed some work but nothing he couldn't fix.
Opening the door his dog jumped out at him scaring Luke half to death. He bent down to pet Stella his beautiful one eyed dog. She was a little beaten up and had lost her eye in the cold winter but nevertheless he loved her.
Luke got off the floor and went to go check on his grandma who was very ill and was staying with him. He jogged up the stairs a little out of breath and walked over to her room, Knocking on her door a few times but he got no answer. He checked his watch looking at the time which read "3am" and decided to go look for his grandma.
Luke thought to himself what a silly old lady she was. Just because she was ill she didn't act like it. She could walk, eat, breath just fine and she didn't ever tell Luke that she was in pain when he knew sometimes she was.
Luke rounded the corner when a soft had touched the back of his shoulder. He spun around so fast almost knock his grandmother on the floor. He grabbed her arm just before she fell and pulled her into a bone crushing hug.
"Nana! Where have you been I was looking everywhere for you!!" He breathed hard. She let out a solid laugh and told him "no worries I just couldn't sleep and then I seen you pull in and sit in your truck. Are you okay sweetheart?"
Luke didn't want to worry his grandmother with his problems. He shook his head and kissed his grandmothers cheek walking her back to her room and shutting the door behind him. He trailed to his room and looked behind to see Stella following him, opening the door Stella Lept and jumped on his bed.
Luke took off his boots and the rest of his clothes and payed in bed. Stella inched her way closer to him until she was cuddled up against his side.
*************
The next morning Luke had an uncertainty that something was wrong. He went to pet Stella's head and she was gone. Throwing on a shirt and grabbing his phone Luke went to look for her, maybe she just went to hangout with nana. He swore that woman spoiled her.Luke checked the guest rooms and Stella wasn't there. Next he went to his nana's door he knocked and seen that it was cracked open. He pushed the door all the way open and ran to his nana who laid in bed, next to her was Stella who was barking loudly.
Luke rushed up to her and checked her pulse- nothing. Digging out his phone he called 999 and telling the police he needed an ambulance sent to his house. Luke was doing cpr to help bring her back to life but nothing was working.
He looked at Stella and told her to open the big house door when the ambulance was here. She barked and left out of the room. Luke chuckled because he felt like Stella was a real human and not just a dog.
Five minutes later Stella lead the police and the ambulance people up to were he was. They pushed look out of the way and tried to shock her heart with the pattles, didn't work. They did it three more times before she responded.
They put her on a stretcher and carried her out of the house.
Luke sighed with relief but he knew that this was only the beginning.
