Luke woke up with a bit of a headache due to worrying about work. The military had called him back in and ask him to come back. Although Luke declined, the military wasn't taking no for an answer.
He told captian mark he'd think about it and hung up the phone. Picking up his half eaten shoe, and looked to see Stella chewing on the other one, he Chuckled softly, petting her head.
Luke walked into the bathroom brushing his teeth and walking down the stairs to see Stella fumbling down the stairs with a shoe in tow.
Laughing he opened the door throughing the old shoe out and letting Stella run after it. Just as luke walked into the kitchen his phone rang.
Luke didn't bother with it, instead he let it go to voicemail. He had other and more important things to worry about then answering calls an sitting around. Today was the day he went to get grandma Rose from the hospital.
Luke and Stella was quite excited about her return. As she had been ill in the hospital. At one point Luke worried if Nana was going to make it. But she always did. She was a strong old lady who knew what she was doing.
She told Luke she'd only die when she sees her first grand kid. Luke picked up an apple and grabbed his keys and wallet and walked out the door shutting and locking it behind him. He jumped in the truck and motioned for Stella to jump behind him. And just like that she did.
Him and Stella drove to the hospital to get Nana rose. By the time he got there nobody was waiting for him. He didn't even see Nana rose. He circled around the building a few times Wondering if maybe they weren't ready yet.
After waiting another 10 minutes in the truck, Luke got out and Stella followed. He hooked the "service dog vest" up to Stella and they entered the hospital.
Luke walked up to the front desk and said "excuse me ma'am but I was waiting on my grandma rose and she never showed up. Could you tell me if she's still here?" He waited for a reply as the nurse checked her computer.
She looked at him and back at her computer, then back at him before speaking.
"Oh sir I'm so sorry...." She spoke.
